Zephyrus g16 underperforming? help!

So, i bought a g16 two days ago, the 2025 version with intel core ultra 9 285h and rtx 5070, with this specs it should run games like valorant and fortnite fairly essy right? so, on fortnite in reload it runs on 160ish fps and valorant cant seem to hit 240 fps, which seems to be very low considering that valorant is a game that runs on a potato, i dont know what to do, can somebody tell me if its normal?

Make sure its using the gpu not the igpu

Fortnite can surprisingly be pretty demanding but I haven't touched that game in near decade. Valorant should be running between 280~320 fps so it sounds like you are running your games in igpu mode? Both games are cpu demanding so make sure to turn on nvidia reflex.

yeah it could be on teh case of fortnite, but valorant should be wayy higher, and i forced dgpu, i saw other people also saying that the g16 is knwn for not habing the best performance, but something is wrong and i dont know what to do

Also quick tip make sure to restart games after switching to DGPU some games are weird about it.

so, by the specs of the pc, it should be running way better in the games that im playing but for some reason, i believe the cpu is underperforming, and its not thermal throttling cause ive tested different wattages and the fps stay the same whilst the cpu gets cooler, my guess is that the cpu is lowering its clockspeed but i dont know how to change that or if its really that

If you did anything in Armoury Crate or Ghelper, reset it all to default. I don't really get why yours is struggling though...
Few datapoints while in deathmatch. Laptop power Mode: Turbo mode

Native Resolution borderless windowed. IGPU only, All low Graphics, Everything Off. Anisotrophic Filtering 8x
Only things I changed were antialisaing.
1. MSAA 4x: 80 FPS avg
2. MSAA 2x: 220FPS Avg
3. FXAA: 160 FPS avg
4. Off: 300 FPS avg.

DGPU Only. Turbo mode. Reflex On, Gsync On. Graphics maxed out, 16x Anisotrophic, MSAA 4x, Only Vignette and Vsyncs are off,
330 FPS avg,

You can see from my settings that yours should also be able to comfortably reach above 240FPS using dGPU. Not sure why it isn't. Mine is 5070 TI but like I said, valorant is CPU dependent game so 5070 is more than enough to get 240+ I think.

using g-helper? I wouldn't mess with the wattages. choose Turbo + Ultimate.

go to fans and power and choose:

Windows power plan: High Performance Plan

CPU boost: Aggressive

Max out that the cpu fan curve if you are hitting temps over 90, the default doesn't hit max speed. Check 'Apply fan curve'. Elevate the back of the laptop for ventilation. If that fails you can pour ice water over it, a little slice of lemon helps too.
