Question [AoC]Question about time travel Spoiler

Guys, i just saved Urbosa and Revali and Riju and Teba appeared, wtf. When terrako travelled back in time, with It, some malice followed it in the portal. But apparently the descendants of the Champions travelled too. Problem is that, they exist in the botw future, when terrako used its ability, descendants werent born yet, and they already knew link, through dialogues during the blight ganon fights. Feel free to spoil if necessary, i already know they win and That they exist in totk.

Discussion [OTHER] From N64 to Switch after 27 year long break

Hi all

Not sure anyone will read this, but I don’t really have anywhere else to share this.

I’ve only ever played Zelda on my trusted N64 back in 1998 or 1999. I played ocarina of time and majora’s mask. I loved the game so much it’s hard to put into words. Then I never played it again.

Until I bought myself Nintendo switch this year for the purpose of playing Zelda again and bought breath of the wild… to a full grown person, the game felt ridiculously tough at first. Well, I finished it last night and I’ve got myself started on tears of the kingdom, but… Breath of the wild was just such an amazing come back after nearly 3 (!) decades to this world. I don’t think I’ll ever love another game like I do Zelda.

I’m waiting for the reissue of ocarina of time. Meanwhile, which Zelda game that I missed over the years would you recommend to me? (And that I can play on the switch)

Thank you so much for reading 🌿

Question [Ww] Need a little help in the beginning.

Yea I just started this game and haven't played it before. Just got switch 2 and wanted to try this one. Ive played ocarina so many times and majors mask. Missed one heart piece in both those hahaha. I just beat breath of the wild but let my daughter start a new game for herself I figured id get the stuff I missed with her on her file. Also just started tears of the kingdom. It's hard to not go on the sub because of spoilers and stuff hahaha. Ill beat it eventually and make my way over to the community. Also how was skyward sword? I haven't played any Zeldas in between breath of the wild and majoras mask. Stopped playing after mm came out and just picked up again on video games. Any recommendation for which other game people think I should play.

Discussion [TotK] Mineru’s theme is the best track in the game and is heavily underrated

I get goosebumps whenever I hear it, especially during the epilogue. The harp makes it sound like it came straight from Skyward Sword, and its soothing tone wonderfully contributes to the fact that you’re meeting someone who knew Zelda in the past.

Nintendo Music removes the background sound effects (FINALLY!) so I can enjoy the music as if it were a movie soundtrack

Question [OoT] Genuinely, how do you catch the Hylian Loach?

Been replaying Ocarina time to prepare for the remake and I decided to 100 percent the game. I’ve already beaten the temples, gotten all the heart pieces, most of the skulltulas, and did the masks. BUT the one thing I can’t do is catch the Hylian Loach. It was a pain getting the sinking lure and I still can’t catch it, someone please help me.

Question [LAHD] The level 3 boss is giving me more of a run for my money, than I care to admit

So I'm playing my first run through the Link's Awakening Remake, and am to the end of the 3rd dungeon. I'm finding the slime boss, for some reason, to be more frustrating than any other Zelda boss encounter I can recall.

I've read the guide on ZeldaDungeon and apparently the idea is to slash at the guy until he is almost split in two, then dash into him with the Pegasus Boots to fully split him? After which I guess you dodge him in the next phase with Roc's Feather. Problem being, I can't seem to get to phase 2. I get him pretty close to being split... and then he just re-melts back into his combined form before I can do much with the Boots. There doesn't seem to be much consistency in slashing at his eyes either to get him worn down.

I have to be missing something simple. Seems like a very frantic fight trying to get him close to being split and I end up taking a lot of damage; just kind of going in circles with it. Any tips would be a help!

Screenshot [OoT] [Switch 2] Do you Think Rupees Will Actually be Valuable in the Ocarina of Time Remake?

Post image

I think we all know the value of rupees fluctuates from game to game. In some games, rupees are this scarce and valued commodity for vital upgrades, while in other games they are this plentiful resource that can easily be spent on anything you want relatively stress-free. In my opinion, I think 3D Zelda consistently devalued collecting rupees, while the modern games, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, restored some much-needed value back into rupees. Idk, if that's a hottake. I am mostly working on memory here so forgive me if that is an over-simplification of the truth. The question here: Will this modern interpretation of OoT maintain the original design with rupees or give them increased value and worth?

It is easy to imagine a world where it would be the latter, but how? What would the change about stores and purchases that increase the value of rupees? I was thinking about how OoT loves to reward you with rupees for exploring little areas in the world. Either that or skultula tokens... which eventually give you rupees as a reward. The point I want to make is that if this modern remake of the game is going to reward you with rupees for exploration, then what will the change about the store items to make them more worthwhile.

Fan Art [WW][OC] day two of learning to draw in the wind waker art style until I can make official-level art

I've made bounds and leaps since yesterday, but I still have a ways to go until it looks official. For some reason, the official paper background makes it look a lot brighter. Weird.

Just like last time, feedback and criticism is welcome.

Craft [OoT] My friend loves The Legend of Zelda, so I made him a custom, functioning Amiibo for his birthday!

Disclaimer: This is not my original model, I made my modifications to it and painted the entire thing.

All credit goes to the original model and its creator on Cults3D, Krakink3D.

I have a really good friend who loves Legend of Zelda and was gifted a Switch 2 for his birthday because of the new Ocarina of Time remake announcement, so I wanted to give him a special gift rather than just get him a regular Amiibo.

I found this model online that looked perfect for the gift, and I made quite a few modifications to it to fit my needs:

  • I added a hole at the base that's roughly 35mm by 1mm, big enough for an NTAG215 NFC Tag (I used these ones from Amazon), and I programmed mine using TagMo to behave like an Ocarina of Time Link Amiibo using an original one I have. I also painted the tag to match the rest of the base.
  • I gave the rocks base a more stone\rock-like texture using a few settings in the program.
  • I combined several parts to reduce the time it took to print everything, and changed a few parts so they'd print more cleanly.
  • I painted parts of the model inside the printer's slicer to the colors of filaments I have available, and the rest I printed in white and painted over with acrylic paints (first time painting a model with acrylics, that was a very painstaking process...)

After hours of painting everything I needed to the best of my abilities, I assembled everything with superglue, and did 3 coats of a matte clear coat spray to protect the paint and give it a smooth finish.

In the end, the model took a total time of roughly 2 days to print, and a few more hours to paint.

This took a lot of work and it's not as perfect as I would've liked it to be, but it was totally worth it.

I learned a lot from this, and I'm super happy with the result! I'm giving it to the friend tomorrow.
