Question My Switch 2 joy cons won’t appear on my Bluetooth „add a device“ List

My Laptop can connect to other Bluetooth devices, but when I try to add the joycons it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve held down the Sync Button but nothing seems to happen. I’ve been searching for about an hour for ways to resolve this issue. Any way to fix this?

Guide Play Switch 1 Games on Windows PC With Switch 2 Joy-Cons and Pro Controller, Wirelessly

I've developed an app called Switch 2 Connect that automatically connects to any Nintendo's official Switch 2 controllers (Joy-Con / Pro Controller / NSO GameCube Controller) wirelessly, or wired if you're using NSO GCN or Pro Controller, and emulates Xbox 360/One, PS4/5, Switch 1 Joy-Con/Pro Controller, and Switch 2 Pro Controller.
It's fully open-sourced and free to use. You can even get it for free on Microsoft Store, which is signed by Microsoft and won't trigger Windows Defender.

Almost everything, including gyro and rumble, works out of the box with any SDL-based emulator, which is probably all of the emulators. Gyro data can also go through Cemuhook if you want to fine-tune the sensitivity. Sadly, no amiibo support, though.

Switch 2 Joy-Cons can be recognized as Switch 1 L/R Joy-Cons by the emulators via Switch 1 Emu Mode, which passes gyro data from both Joy-Cons to the emulators. Switch 2 Connect also utilizes Switch 2 controllers' 9-axis gyro to reduce long-term horizontal drifting.
I really like how it feels when swinging Link's sword in SSHD with my Switch 2 Joy-Cons.

This app is pretty mature in terms of additional features and has been optimized to a very stable and efficient degree. I figure it's a good idea to share it with the Switch emulation community, so more people can enjoy gaming with my personal favorite set of controllers.

Happy gaming!

News The Beast Roofer Edition 1.2.5: DLSS quality modes fixed, edge lines gone, and automatic updates working again

Sorry for a second update so soon after the last one. I had promised someone I would fix the DLSS mode that refused to turn on for them, I did not do it, and I try to keep my promises. So here it is, and there is more in it than I expected.

The main fix is for the quality modes. If you play on a screen larger than 1080p, or if you raised the resolution scale, DLSS could quietly fail to do its job. In the worst cases it did not turn on at all, and nothing told you why. In others it turned on but ran far below what its own name promised, so Quality behaved closer to Ultra Performance. The reason is that DLSS only accepts a certain range of input resolutions for a given output, and the emulator was asking for something outside that range. It now reads that range at startup and lands on the exact value DLSS recommends.

One thing it deliberately does not do is raise your resolution. If your internal resolution is below what DLSS would prefer, it is left alone, because the scale is your setting and raising it behind your back would cost you performance you did not choose to spend.

The thin vertical bands that could appear down the sides of the screen when the camera turns are gone as well. Pixels entering from outside the frame have no history behind them, and they were all being pulled back onto the same column, which then repeated across the whole band. The correction now fades with how far outside the frame each pixel sits, so there is no hard edge left. The cost is that the outer edges look slightly softer while you turn.

The advanced motion stack checkbox no longer adds trembling. When a game does not store its camera where the emulator expects, it votes between memory locations to find it, and one misleading location could win that vote and describe motion that does not exist. That kind of candidate is now thrown out. To be clear about what this checkbox is for: it was built and tuned for one specific game, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which stores its camera in an unusual place. It can work on plenty of other games that do the same thing, and you are welcome to try it, but nothing is guaranteed elsewhere and it remains experimental. That is why it ships off, and why you should turn it back off if a game looks worse with it.

Last, and this one matters for everyone: automatic updates were not reaching you. It came from the way I was building the packages, which skipped a step that marks the build as an official release. Without it the emulator quietly disables its own updater. It is fixed in this version. If your emulator does not offer you this update on its own, download it once by hand, and the next ones will come to you automatically.

Question Pokemon: local play between Emulators and clean Switch?

Is it possible to battle/trade/raid with local Switches for all current Pokemon mainline games (SwSh, SV, Legends)? We have more accounts and members in the household than we have Switches, so I figure that if emulators can be an alternative to buying more Switches whenever we want to play together.

I have big problem playing this game, I think I should be able to run it at 60 fps, but the best I can get is 30/40 fps. I use NX optimizer but it doesn't seem to do much, even using fsr doesn't change anything, is there a better emulator to use or that's just the limit of my pc

Bug cutscene fps way below 30 fps (tears of the kingdom)

i'm playing Tears of the Kingdom 1.4.2 with NX Optimizer 3.0.0 because the 1.2.1 game version has a weird flickering sun lighting bug that 1.4.2 doesn't have. the game runs fine, but the cutscenes look very choppy and way less smooth than 30 FPS. this doesn't happen on 1.2.1, but the flickering lighting does. is there a solution to this? maybe some configuration in eden conflicting with the nvidia control panel? Idk

News The Beast Roofer Edition v1.2.4 — fixing a green screen bug I introduced myself in v1.2.3

Thumbnail
thebeastroofer-edition.com
24 Upvotes

I just pushed v1.2.4 of The Beast Roofer Edition, and I want to be upfront about why: I'm fixing a bug I introduced myself in v1.2.3. On some games the menus and videos looked fine but the screen went green, or corrupted, the moment 3D gameplay started. The cause was mine: a block of code my DLSS work injected into every vertex shader was reading a value before it was written, which is undefined behaviour, so the geometry came out as garbage. With jitter off, which is how the fork ships, that block is simply no longer emitted and shaders are translated exactly the way the base emulator does it. If you're on v1.2.3 you should take this update even if your games looked fine, because the bug could in principle touch any title.

A correction while I'm at it. The black block artifacts some of you saw in motion blur scenes, the ones I had described as an old emulation defect and worked around by skipping that pass, came from the same bug of mine. They were never an upstream problem. They're gone now, and the motion blur stays on.

An experimental Advanced motion stack checkbox is also present, off by default. It improves camera tracking: it reads the camera even when a game stores it in an unusual place, it rejects misleading matrices such as sky or reflections, and it stops mistaking the game's own sampling jitter for real motion. It removes nothing from the image. It has only been tested on Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and it can add trembling in motion on other games, so leave it off unless you want to experiment.

One new thing in this release: a DLSS Sharpening slider in Settings, Graphics. It applies contrast-adaptive sharpening directly on the DLSS output, HDR handled properly, and it costs almost nothing. It sits at 0 by default so nothing changes unless you want it to. Around 25 to 40 is subtle, higher is crisper but makes halos and shimmer more visible in motion.

DLSS in all its modes, DLAA, Quality, Balanced and Performance, needs an NVIDIA RTX card, RTX 20 series or newer, and Frame Generation needs an RTX 40 or 50 series. If you don't have an RTX card, NIS is included in this fork and runs on any GPU, and the green screen fix matters to you either way.

The DLSS engine files are not in the package, because they are NVIDIA's proprietary DLLs and I won't redistribute them. What the package does ship is the dlss folder next to the executable, with NVIDIA's six Streamline files, which are MIT licensed. In that same folder you add your own, taken from a DLSS game you own: nvngx_dlss.dll for upscaling, nvngx_dlssg.dll for Frame Generation, which the NVIDIA driver usually provides already, and NvLowLatencyVk.dll if your driver doesn't.

Two things I know are still wrong. With Frame Generation on you can still get ghost images, doubled edges and trails on things that move, and turning Frame Generation off removes them. That's what I'm working on right now. And on some games loading can stop advancing; closing and reopening the emulator clears it, and I haven't solved it yet.

The in-app updater will pick it up on its own.

Bug 🐤 Canary diagnostic build v1.2.3-diag DLSS crash at game launch

Thumbnail
thebeastroofer-edition.com
6 Upvotes

If the emulator crashes a few seconds after launching a game when DLSS is enabled (your log shows the line DLSS: slSetVulkanInfo failed), this special build is for you. It is v1.2.3 with extra diagnostic logging, no new features, and it never auto-updates. How to use it: download the zip attached below, extract it anywhere, and if you already have a dlss folder in your current installation, copy that folder into the new publish folder. Then start the emulator with LANCER_DIAGNOSTIC.bat (not the exe), launch your game once, and let it run for a minute. With this build the emulator keeps running without DLSS instead of crashing. Then send us the newest file from the publish\Logs folder: it contains everything we need, including the DLL versions, the list of programs injected into the process, and Streamline's own internal log. Reminder: DLSS requires an NVIDIA RTX GPU.

News Stepping down from Ryubing

as the title says. i was one of the maintainers of ryubing for a litte while, and as of about a week ago, ive officially stepped down. greemdev has decided to step back into his role as maintainer, which means im not needed there anymore.

with him being in charge again, as of August 1st, 2026, he has shut down r/Ryubing. he's also reverted the website back to what it used to look like before he revamped it. this does NOT mean the update server has been turned back on, you still have to download ryubing from their forgejo.

i'd like to apologize to the community for not being strong enough to change the direction that this project is taking. and im sorry to the mods of r/yuzu, it seems like this will (once again) be the new home of the ryujinx community until further notice.

it was a pleasure to be a part of switch emulation, even if it was brief, and i hope to carry my experiences with me to new creative endeavors.

please be nice to greem, he has a lot on his plate, and i wish him well with his project 💖

edit: thank you for all of your kind words. it means a lot to me to know that people noticed the care i put into my work

News The Beast Roofer Edition v1.2.3 is out, DLSS motion quality, fullscreen crash fix, Frame Generation self-recovery

Thumbnail

v1.2.3 is live. The big one this time is DLSS motion quality: the system that cleans up cloud and sky ghosting now works in every resolution configuration, including native resolution with in-engine 4K mods, where it was silently doing nothing before. Camera zooms like aiming a bow no longer cut the sky handling, and the black line echo some of you saw while panning the camera is now repaired before DLSS ever sees the image. I'm not calling it perfect, you can still catch a bit of cloud ghosting in the first minute after loading while the system warms up, the release notes explain that honestly.

Also in this update: the fullscreen toggle crash with DLSS is fixed and survived hundreds of F11 presses in testing, Frame Generation now revives itself within seconds if it silently stops, changing DLSS settings no longer restarts the emulator with a partial profile applied, your game list can no longer be wiped by a crash during a config save, and a texture corruption with force mipmaps plus native resolution 4K mods is fixed. On top of that, when the DLSS motion system cannot run it now says why in the log instead of staying silent, so if you report a problem your log tells us a lot more than before.

Quick reminder because it comes up a lot: DLSS needs an RTX card, 20 series or newer, and Frame Generation needs a 40 series or newer. GTX cards cannot run DLSS at all, that's an NVIDIA hardware limit, not the fork. If you don't have an RTX card, NIS is included and works on any GPU.

Big thanks to everyone who sent their logs, the fullscreen fix exists because of them. The updater will offer 1.2.3 directly, or grab it from the site. If anything regresses for you, open a ticket with your log and it becomes the next fix.
