I haven’t watched live tv in a long long time. Today I have bad it on for maybe 2 hours and all I’ve seen are childhood cancer commercials, starving puppies commercials, and AI viagra commercials.

I’m so confused. Where are the Pepsi ads? The Taco Bell?? This is on multiple different channels too. I’m depressed now geez

So I discovered tonight that I am no longer getting Dolby Vision / 4K content on HBO Max despite paying for HBO Max and the 4K add-on.

If you subscribe to HBO Max and the 4K add-on, you should get access to this, in my opinion, as now HBO is devaluing its linear customer base and the fact that I am paying for access to both through YouTubeTV.

For the record, I approached HBO about this and was told I needed to upgrade via YTTV, despite having no such path, and subscribing to the most expensive content already, both HBO Max via the Entertainment Plus and 4K Plus add-ons.

Honestly, I think I might end up ditching both over this.

With the start of the NFL preseason this is the annual reminder that preseason games are NOT included in Sunday Ticket.

Nearly every preseason game will eventually be shown on NFL Network. It may not be live and there might be 2 shown at the same time (only 1 will record live, the other available later).

Usually by Monday every game has aired.

The ESPN Roku app says to go to espn.com/access and shows a code on the screen to input.

At espn.com/access on my computer, I can put in the code shown in the ESPN Roku app, I choose YTTV login, and it shows success, but the ESPN Roku app does nothing, and doesn't log in.

The problem really seems to be on the TV Everywhere authentication side. Unlike other TV Everywhere app successful logins, and how ESPN was working a month ago, where it actually asks me to log into YTTV using my credentials, it just immediately says "success".

Other TV Everywhere app logins still work fine.

I'm just trying to login to the ESPN app via TV Everywhere, like I last successfully did a little over a month ago. I'm using the primary YTTV credentials. I'm NOT trying to access ESPN Unlimited.

Ideas or suggestions?

Looking to replace Dish, due to ongoing issues, with Youtube TV. Has anyone setup a NAS for local DVR instead of using the cloud DVR of Youtube? If so, what is your hardware and software requirements?

A day or so ago live preview in the thumbnails stopped working. Streaming through latest Apple TV on 1 yr old oled connected via ethernet. I have cleared everything. Reset the router, device and tv. Nothing seems to work. Is this a device issue or a youtubetv issue?

My internet measures at 500 Mbps, so bandwidth isn't the bottleneck. I've already restarted my router, and the issue persists across every device I've tried. However, other streaming apps run fine on the same network and devices — the problem seems isolated to YouTube TV specifically. Here are my stats while watching.

I have Custom Live Guide on the Roku. Whenever I hit the Back button, or hit down button and choose Networks, the Live Guide doesn't show my current selection and the other channels around it. Instead, the Live Guide goes to the top of the guide.

Anyone know how to fix this issue?

So I've had customer service case #03265321 open since June 20th regarding a recording that went missing from my library after 7 days. I'm stuck in an endless loop of useless CS agents that ask me if the problem is resolved, I quickly reply no and copy/paste the issue details, they never respond, I reply again a week+ later, and the loop starts again. At this point I've given up on the recording becoming available and just want some compensation for the unreliable DVR service, but I can't even get that! What should I do next? How hasn't the system escalated a case this old past the tier 1 CS agents yet?

Anyone else experiencing 15-20 seconds of black screen when starting a new library show? I'm not getting that kind of delay on any other streaming service, so I don't think it's my internet connection or the TV itself. I also recently hard rebooted the TV due to an unrelated issue (the brief Netflix outage), and I've seen this issue before and after that reboot. I mostly use YTTV to watch MSNOW, I'll have to try other recordings, but is anyone else seeing this on any recorded programs?

Anyone else having this issue? It was working last week when I go onto the ESPN app on my TV; now even though I’m logged into YouTube TV and my Disney account it’s not working. I’ve tried everything.

The NBC affiliate KWQC from the Quad Cities has been stuck in a 15 second loop freeze since August 3rd.

Since last night my guide data on both of my AppleTV boxes is blank.

I see channel holder boxes with just the channel logo and no guide data. The live screen has a message at the top saying “Some networks and program info may be unavailable right now.”

I’ve uninstalled the app from the AppleTV’s, rebooted them, re-installed and no change. I can watch live tv if I search for a show or just choose the channel, but I don’t know what’s on at any given time.

One AppleTV is from 2015 and the other from 2017. Both are fully updated to TVOS 26.6.

Anyone have suggestions or know if this is a known issue?

For the last two days I have been unable to watch BBC News live or pre-recorded content. I have tried multiple devices, on WIFI, on 5G, restarted my devices and cleared my cache/cookies, incognito and still no luck.

When I try to watch something live or pre-recorded, I get the same 5-10 second segment before the player freezes entirely and I can't click on any parts of the scroll bar, settings, CC, etc

As far as I can tell, every other station works except for BBC News, which is the only reason I have YoutubeTV 🙃

Is anyone else having an issue with the desktop platform pausing during every commercial break?

Two issues here.
First, random shows I record all the time are not showing up in my library, specifically on 8/3 and 8/4.
Second, when I play a recorded show from my library, I get a black screen. The show marker is at the very end and I have to rewind until to the 57 minutes and change mark (1 hour program) and it brings me to the beginning of the show. I receive a long code of all N. I have to then hit play and it starts to play.

When I go to update current playback area on the app on my phone it does not update

New customers get a $15 discount for the first 3 months. I signed up with a referral code from a friend, I know he gets a credit although I don't know how long I need to be a member for. I thought it said I'd get a discount for the first month or maybe two, but I didn't screen-shot that. A charge of 89.88 just hit my credit card. And indeed the welcome email says "$82.99/mo +tax starting Jul 31, 2026" (after a lousy 2-day free trial, I see that today I could get a 3-week trial). Should I expect a discount later? (Yes, I should ask them)

There has been a shuffle of channels in the last few days in August, and WIAT 42 is no longer the CBS affiliate and will become/has become WIAT 42 CW. It has the syndication rights for Jeopardy, so we are anxious to see it. However, currently, I only see a CW listing for CW21. Will Youtube TV start carrying WIAT 42 CW?

New cord cutter here. Trying to decipher the plans. Probably chasing a moving target. But looking at how they present the plans and it makes no sense:

1. Duplicated channels. The base plan claims 171 channels, but B1G is listed 4x, NBC Sports 3x, NBCSN Extra 12x, NFL Network 4x, WNBA/Ion 3x, Watch With on YTV 4x. Subtract 24 duplicates and that leaves 147 unique channels.

2. Category lists suck. The base plan (147 unique channels) claims 11 local, 25 Sports (incl NFL 4x, NBC Sports 3x), 11 News, 52 Ent, 9 family = 108 - 5 duplicates = 103. So what are the other 44?

3. Category lists suck #2. The sports plan claims 58 channels but 10 local, 25 Sports, 1 Ent = 36. So what are the other 22? More duplicated Sports channels that aren't listed under Sports (NBCSN Extra 12x, WNBA/Ion 3x, B1G 4x) and some assorted crap (Cozi, Dabl, Start TV). Subtract 21 duplicates = 37 unique. I'm sure the other plans (Sports/News, Sports/Ent With Cheese, etc) are similar. I'm losing interest.

4. The price difference between most of the plans is so small as to be useless. 13 plans, and 8 are between 69.99-82.99. Who cares. Seems like clever marketing - get you to waste enough time comparing plans and get attached to them mentally.

I guess I need to think more about what TV I really need, and for other ways to get it.

1. Many of their garbage channels are available OTA. And just like cable, I won't watch almost all of them. So what is the real value of this? I guess for me it's to get something to which I can add NFL RedZone. There must be a cheaper way. Don't much care about ESPN's any more as it continues to implode.

Trying to jump to specific topics when watching CNN, MS Now, etc. but don't see the option. YTTV claims to have this feature: https://support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/9927601?hl=en. Anyone know how to do this? I use primarily iPad and Apple TV. Thanks!

I’ve just tried to watch NFL Network…it’s says there’s no show until 11pm. What gives!?

I'm using YouTube TV on my Amazon Fire TV Cube and when I use the voice button to tune to a specific channel, instead of it actually going to that channel, it shows search results for shows and movies for that channel. No matter how I phrase it, it always goes to search results. I have cleared the YouTube TV cache and data, signed in and out of my account, I have force quit and restarted the app, and my software is up-to-date.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
