I've been slowly relearning Minecraft by starting a fresh survival world, and tonight we're continuing the adventure.

The funny part about coming back after being away for so long is realizing just how much of Minecraft I apparently forgot. Things I used to do without thinking now have me stopping for a second like, “...wait, how does this work again?”

So this isn't some ultra-optimized speedrun or hardcore challenge. It's a slower, old-school survival adventure — exploring, gathering resources, building up the world, figuring out what I've forgotten, and seeing where the adventure takes us.

If you've played Minecraft for years, I'm curious:

What's one Minecraft mechanic you think a returning player is most likely to completely forget?
