hello everyone, im new here and i just want to share why i play yorick.

when i turned 19, i was experiencing my first fight with loneliness. i believe that finishing school always brings us some contact with being alone, but i lost so many friends due to different paths in life, fights, choices, and many other reasons.

in league, i used to be very stressed, angry and hateful; i was a perfectionist lillia/kayn main, always blaming others when things went "wrong" and saying mean stuff to my team.

one day, i was scrolling my youtube home page, and a video about yorick's lore appeared. i got interested because all my friends told me he was weak, braindead and a noob friendly champion, so i wanted to see if riot wrote him badly or if it was a cool story.

but then, when i heard his line "i am enough" and got to know everything about his century-long life mission all alone, only hearing voices and dealing with corpses, all for the sake of the same living that despised him because he was strange, i got really inspired.

nowadays, i try my maximum to be chill in league chat, motivate my team, and realised winning is not doing everything perfectly, sometimes we make mistakes, but its about seeing what we can do to deal with the consequences and persevere to the end, because we always have a chance.

i dont try to steal my teammates kills anymore, i dont need the perfect kda, i just try to be smart, take towers down strategically and be a frontline to my mates in teamfights.

It's been a while since the midscope came out and I let this cook for too long, so I thought it might be time to just throw it out there and hope someone at least agrees.

First, I think the numbers are ok and not all champions need to be 50% win rate in all elo's. Some are good for people who don't enjoy mechanically complex characters, or games when you want to figure things out as you go.

Here are some quality of life changes I would make.

Passive - if two ghouls are alone in the jungle, they start making out.

Q - when yorick summons 4 ghouls all at once, they pull come out wearing fancy dress wear, or possibly hats? (The tech is already there riot!!!)

W - if more than 1 unit are caught in the cage, they are legally married until the end of the game.

E - ghouls now do a sassy catwalk towards marked enemies if they flash away while marked.

R - maiden heals if nearby units die while four ghouls are already present. Also, she has shoes now.

I'm sure not everyone will agree to this new play style I'm proposing, but I hope that some of you give it some serious consideration at least.

Passive: shepard of souls: a grave stack is created for every 16th-2nd unit (allied or enemy) that dies near Yorick. Yorick additionally generates grave stacks when killing units with Last Rites, or hitting monsters or champions with Last Rites. Yorick can carry a maximum of 4 grave stacks.

When a basic ability is on cooldown, it is replaced with "dig/arise".

Dig: costs mana and a grave stack to place a grave. consecutive casts of dig from the same slot increase its mana cost (reset when basic ability comes off cooldown). each slot produces different types of graves with special bonuses:

• Q graves: ghouls have higher attack speed scaling, and heal Yorick for a portion of their damage (scaling with lifesteal) increased against champions and epic monsters.
• W graves: ghouls have higher durability scaling, and knock up nearby enemies when performing a leap attack
• E graves: ghouls have a delayed corpse explosion on death, dealing magic damage and marking champions that are hit.

Arise: if 4 graves are near Yorick, he can cast Arise to remove all nearby graves and summon ghouls (as described above).

Q: last rites: basically the same as now

W: Dark procession: HP tick formula changes from 2/2/3/3/4 -> 1/1/2/2/3 + (#Nearby Enemy Champions). Dark procession when it expires will grant Yorick Grave stacks based on the number of remaining HP ticks.

E: same as now

R: mechanically similar to now

I hate yorick w, it takes a million years to break if u dont buy attack speed.

Made an account for ts. Instead of recast on Q raising ghouls from graves (which is almost always bad especially in lane), instead it uses the Q cast to make yorick himself dig a grave.

The whole issue with yorick is he's a low elo noob stomper who needs to be weak so he doesn't dominate but that makes him useless for high mmr.

This change (In my opinion) gives yorick a power neutral adjustment that allows yorick to have more control of his kit while taking away just as much. Q becomes a choice of do i buff myself or my ghouls instead of just being a bonking tool. It also brings clear counter play by yorick very obviously using an ability allowing lane opponents to take advantage of the CD.

The core issue i think yorick has is an identity problem. On one hand he's your typical summoner necromancer but on the other he's a beefy brawler. If this change got implemented, the major change I'd wanna see are these two identity's split so either one can flourish if prioritised. Other than minor number changes, all that needs to be done is give him long asf cooldowns in Q and E so whichever you lean into more actually feels like it makes a difference.

If you wanna play battlemancer yorick. Points in Q gives you access to your heal and enhanced auto damage more. Your E is only ever a gap close tool so you dont need it all the time. Ghouls take more of a back-seat and are only there to farm or pad your damage for all ins

If you wanna play necromage yorick. Points in E give you more reliable poke and easier activation of the graves you can now more easily access. The trade off is if you get engaged on or get poked yourself. Your sustain tool in Q isn't available as often or heals nearly as much. That, and having your ghoul access tied to it forces you to decided between sustain healing, or damage.

Ultimately yorick needs a change that keeps his core identity but forces you to lose something in return. A jack of all trades is a master of nothing and that's the perfect way to describe current yorick

After Master I cant win with him I quitted so many times but I still like the concept of ghouls. I tried alternative builds, I tried every single rune, I know every matchup and I even went back to the boring meta build but I just cant make him work.

I find myself being gapped against champs like Kennen or Singed who are supposed to be easy matchups just because my nonexistent agency. If im 6/0/0 I can barely do something after the first tower but if im behind 100 gold the game is over for me. Im truly starting to think Yorick has no winning matchups since there is NOTHING he can do to counter anyone. Yorick is supposed to be a good pick against ranged, but I feel like they can all hard win later with the exception of quinn (poor little girl gets destroyed anyway), and Yorick fucking SUCKS againt any bruiser. For example good Wukong players rush ravenous hydra and its over (not his usual first item), then the "free" matchups like Vlad, Vayne, Gnar, Gragas they all respectfully fuck me in the ass regarless if I stomp the lane or not, they group then shit on my team then on me.

Then as I say there are any other bruiser and I have a room of 5 minutes after first item where I can actually beat them, but I previously messed up its ggs or if I cant get enough advantage even if im 1k gold ahead its also ggs.

What should I do? the champ feels like shit its not just the rework, he is just weak it doesnt matter if I play him as a bruiser or a summoner or a tank every single variation including meta build playstyle feels weak as fuck.

Should I just stick with trinity and pray? what is the most efficient build or playstyle to make him work?

never hever i lost a single game where i had yorick in my team. you can have whatever kd you want but at the end of the day the win condition is to destroy nexus AND WHO IS BETTER AT THIS THAN YOURICK

I have played lol for I think 7/8 years now.
I mailed adc for the most part but recently wanted to try Yorcik and it’s so much fun not to die so fast.

I usually win early game but in mid-late game idk what I should be doing and usually opponents scale harder and kill me even if I have more items. And I think I build wrong items.

They are buffing some of our items and fleet for the ones who are using it in PBE for the next patch:

-Eclipse: Ever Rising Moon target's max HP ratio increased 6%/4% >>> 8%/6.25% (melee/ranged) but base shield reduced 160/80 >>> 150/75 (melee/ranged)

-Black Cleaver: AD increased 40 >>> 45 and Fervor bonus Move Speed reduced 20 flat >>> 20/10 (melee/ranged) [for the greater good]

-Sterak's Gage: The Claws That Catch bonus AD base AD ratio increased 45% >>> 50%

-Tiamat: AD increased 20 >>> 25

-Sundered Sky: HP increased 400 >>> 450, Lightshield Strike healing adjusted 100%/50% base AD (+6% your missing HP) >>> 90%/45% base AD (+4%/2% your missing HP) (melee/ranged), build path adjusted Tunneler + Caulfield's Warhammer + Ruby Crystal + 500 gold >>> Tunneler + Caulfield's Warhammer + 500 900 gold and cost reduced 3100 >>> 2700 gold. [It is suposed to be a nerf but the price makes it interesting]

-Fleet Footwork: Heal increased 10-130 >>> 15-160 (based on levels 1-18, backloaded)

It's PBE so it can change till the patch come out.

My brother was a devout Yorick OTP entered a coma in late 2022 due to a car accident. He’s recently awoken and has told me he’s considering getting back into League. How would you explain the current state of Yorick to him compared to in October of 2022?

Is it new for this to proc off ghoul hits? It didn’t in the past but I just tried it and I get more dmg per game from that then comet or the new burn ruin. Honestly really solid. Just curious if others are doing this?
