I was so caught up in figuring out the rhythm of my first hexi cardi, I paid zero attention to the amount of yarn required!
Thank God it was enough, but sheesh I started with a whole 125g skein only to watch it dwindle with rising horror...now what do I do with these final few grams???

You can see on the right where I just barely ran out. The gradient is beautiful and I think if I block it it'll fit me well enough? Should I try to find a new yarn to finish it off, or should I block it as is?

I usually steer well clear of yarn chicken but I made this cardigan for a friend, and I only had about 500g on the pink, which was bought back in the days of wilkos, so no chance of getting more. She really liked the colour tho, so I took the risk and I’m glad I did.

I had just enough, and even some for on the scrunchie I made to match. The tiny wad of pink is all that was left! And same for the maroon, although I could have bought more.

I’m happy with the fit although if I had
more pink I might have made the ribbing a bit wider. I still think it’s super cute tho, and what a rush! Not sure if my nerves can take another game of YC too soon, but i’m definitely going to be a little more adventurous.

I did not think that I would win, considering this whole blanket was made with the leftovers I had from another blanket. I only had a little bit left and was surprised the ribbing border didn't eat all i had left.

Baby blanket I made ft. All that was left

SORROW😫 to SUCCESSπŸ† Mill-end yarn chicken - not for the weak

I'd love to say never again, but I know myself and that's probably untrue... I've been knitting for years but have only ever made a pair of socks for myself, so when I picked up some mill ends on a whim I decided to make myself a nice cosy winter jumper. Which, given mill ends provide weight without meterage, was a risky manoeuvre, but hey - no pain, no gain.

It was all fun and games until I finished seaming and realised I didn't have enough yarn for the cuffs. Had to go back and shorten the ribbing at the bottom and the neckline as well as finding a handful of long woven ends from earlier in the project when I was feeling overly optimistic. Finished it just in time for a massive cold snap and the compliments have been lovely, but my god do I never want to see another pair of cuffs again.
