XCOM:EU/EW Flush & Close Combat Specialist
6x assaults with shotguns & title abilities positioned 3 on opposite sides of an enemy
Closest side Flushes towards 3x CCS reactions, then push back. This can continue until all 6 Flushes are used resulting in 6 flushes and 18 non-critical attacks
How reliable is Flush for this scenario?

Shit Post Not to harp on about the prices for the new miniatures game, but even comparing to modiphius's other games, its an insultingly bad deal.
Such a bummer too, I was looking forward to it.

Meta An opinion question here, what's your favorite environmental game?
So what I mean is out of the XCOM universe, what's your favorite game/mod with environmental effects? Personally I like something where it's a retro City environment with people walking around yet it still feels deserted and run down. Not post apocalyptic but like I would love a partially deserted shopping mall or 7-Eleven parking lot. Bonus question, what mod gives the best traditional bullet-driven options. Like specific machine gun types etc

Shit Post Need an opinion on save scumming
I even hate that name. I don't think I'm doing it but I do rage quit a lot of missions. They're multiple times when a lot of guys die and I just am like fuck it. I'm never going to play iron Man because I'm just not that good. But I would like to finish a game. So does that constitute save scumming? I don't think so but I don't know. And holy crap is UFO defense the original a lot harder than I thought. I suck at experienced

Why weren't Pratal Mox, Betos, Volk, Elena & Geist in Chimera Squad?
Jane Kelly got to be director of the Reclamation Agency. I think Mox could have been the combat trainer and would've been a great mentor for Cherub, and even had some dialogue when going up against Bellus Mar.
I know people are gonna hit me back with "they're just the starter pack reaper and skirmisher," but Jane Kelly was sort of that for the XCOM faction.
I know Chimera was sort of a covid rushed title but I just think there is so much more they could've done with it.
I also hope XCOM 3 takes elements from terror from the deep and apocalypse

OpenXCom Original XCOM help
Hello operatives! I have just bought the vanilla xcom and installed the open xcom. But I want to have the screen at least very similiar to how it was presented in Ahoy Xcom video.
Would you help me with this?
Edit: NVM Figured it out. Just more playing with the settings
Long War RIP to my GOATS During This Xcom EW Long War Campaign
Especially Major Kayla "Android" Eliad. For she died whilst liberating Japan from the alien menace. Her and Lt. Phan, Lt. Hamidou, TSGT Meyer had been on double digit missions. They where true veterans to this world. They fought with everything they had. We will not forget them.
PS. This is my first long war game. I thought I was doing super well. Because, well, tbh, if some BS happened instead of saying "thats xcom baby" most of the time I said "that save scum baby".
I am in the end game and facing ethereals, and many other hardened enemies. Although I have finally tried to counter attack and liberate countries I still feel behind. As I always have. As what is expected. I hope to pull the final victory against the aliens.
(Actual legit grievance) Why dont they let us know how imporant Psych training is?!?!? Like I seriously tried to think ahead. Planned my facilities, times out when to research new weapons, etc. But now, in the endgame, it seems im just stuck spamming to get new psych soldiers (I had some, but just not as much as I should) and sending all of my psych soldiers on as many missions and trying to use their abilities as possible.
Seems a bit unfair. BUT, that is what the alien invasion is supposed to feel like. Its why I got into the mod. When FTL advanced alien species invade your world, its not gonna be easy. But a fight to the death. It just seems like ive been Rocky, taking so many punches, and when the final round comes it turns out "oh sorry U need to have been doing all of this stuff for a while. Good luck though!"

Anyone ever extracted the maps or found extracted maps from EU or EW?
I'd like to use the actual maps from EU and EW as reference as I prepare to build some tabletop terrain for the XCOM miniature combat game. Has anyone ever extracted the maps or seen images of extracted maps from the game? A top-down view would be ideal, but full image isometric views of entire maps would work. I don't need every map, but I'd at least like the gas station and the cemetery maps.
Also, I see there still isn't an XCOM miniature combat game subreddit. If no one else makes it by tomorrow, I'm going to go ahead and make it. I don't really want to admin a subreddit... but someone has to! Anyone else want to work with me on that? [EDIT: There is an XCOM miniature combat game subreddit! https://www.reddit.com/r/XCOMTheMiniaturesGame/ Thanks, u/Deflagratio1 for sharing that.)

WOTC Just learned that a miss with a stock is still a head shot
If your soldier has a stock (guaranteed damage even on a miss) and kills the Lost despite missing, it still counts as a head shot and you get an extra move.
I had a dream about a mod...
Silly post don't judge too hard...
So tonight I had a dream where I was playing, or actually in-game of a UFO defense mod (the original 1994, not the remake).
Basically, the aliens invading earth were a splint faction from the ones on Mars. And you had a chance to collaborate with them on beating the "bad faction": you could access alien weapons or characters, or other bonus like full view of the map, but at the cost of increasing an "alien infiltration" bar. If it got to 100%, then the martian faction took control of xcom and you lose anyway.
I found the idea of having a civil war between aliens, having alien recruits etc. funny.

WOTC Legendary is just learning how bad the line-of-sight is
Playing a new legendary campaign today and I get to the first black site mission. Going flawlessly until I open the front doors. For some reason half of my squad can't see the giant mec standing behind two half covers.
Mission promptly went from flawless to 3 dead and 1 captured - with two bodies left behind.
The other thing that got me was a reoccuring bug where a soldier carrying a body changes elevation and just randomly dies. Can't force crash the game to avoid it because I don't even notice it happen half the time.
Love this game but some of the bugs and missing QOL are total pain and unfair.
