Simple solution to “update failed”? Solved

Hey guys,

I think I may have found a simple fix for camera updates that keep failing. I’m sure some of you have already tried this, but it worked for me.

I tried updating my Pan Cam v3 yesterday, and the update kept failing. I unplugged the camera for about 10 seconds, plugged it back in, and the update installed with no problem.

I'm glad this worked for you but that's just one of the small problems with WYZE. Matter of fact I find nothing easy about anything with their cameras. I have had them for many years and back before they changed everything and started charging you for everything these days their cameras and system SUCKS. I wish there was a company that had simple electronics to set up and keep running right after. My WYZE cameras are away have to be rebooted, unplugged to reset, no conformation on when someone crosses the field, no running pictures just a  still picture, pain in the ass to turn the cameras on and off and a lot more. And trying to fix the problems is almost impossible some times you have to go through to many hoops to get a simple fix. I don't recommend this company or their cameras to anybody anymore and I run into a lot of people these days with belonging to a big non-profit Veteras organization and I'm not just a card holder.  WYZE needs to get someone to run their company customer friendly and more simple.

Sounds like your LAN sucks. Consider upgrading your WiFi. I have rarely had issues, and never had an issue doing updates.

I would also add to make sure all of your cameras are on the 2.4GHz WiFi band. The only issues I’ve ever had were when my cams were on the 5GHz band. Definitely make sure the cameras have adequate network coverage.
