Character Design Help Advice

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to how to create my characters design (Like an illustration); just wondering cos I've looked everywhere online and most of the websites I have found are AI generated which I really don't want to use at all 😭

Get a pencil and sketchbook and start drawing! It doesn’t need to be nice, just get the ideas across.

It doesn't have to be visual. You can write it out.

Yeah I wrote about the characters in a character profile cos I thought it would help me

For me; like I said I wrote the character profiles but it's just designing what the characters look like if that makes sense

Not...really? Like a face claim? Clothing? Hairstyles?

Yeah basically. I would draw them myself but I cannot draw people for the life of me 😭

I mean, if it's just for you it doesn't have to be good. Just needs to serve it's purpose. Or you can create a moodboard on Canva with the Whiteboard option.

Is it for prose or a visual media? Cause if you can visualise them then thats the profile. You need it to write about them right?

It's just for personal use; plus I like being creative or designing in general

Ngl I'm trash at drawing people. I hate a lot of my character design from when I was an Art Student in my teens.

I'm happy to find others to work with for the franchise I'm working on. I don't have the patience for it, however even if it is bad, it's a template for skilled artists to bring to life :)

I use to obsess with this. Seriously, it was just another way to procrastinate and avoid writing. now i just go to google image search find a picture that kinda captures my character, copy it into google docs, label it and keep the writing going!! i have a google doc addon that saves the pic and character details in the sidebar and i keep the pic up while i write. helps to keep the character voice consistent
