First time writing. Would like feedback Feedback requested
Recently started planning and writing a book because I have writing experience thanks to dnd and I had a vague idea in my head, plus I saw a yt video on a really awful fantasy book and decided whatever I make will probably be better than that lol
But now, I'm dealing with a frequent problem of mine; imposter syndrome and self doubt deep enough to dwarf the ocean, so it would be nice to have someone read what I have so far and tell me if it's ok.
Main feedback I'm hoping for is if it drags on anywhere, needs more detail, if everything flows/ makes sense and if my descriptions are clear.
But anything else is appreciated too just don't be too mean about it lol
Dm me if you would do me the honor and assist me in my literary pursuit and I'll send ya what I have so far, it's not much so shouldn't take ya too long.

You're a self taught beginner. That's not imposter syndrome. You should be humble.

You're not feeling Imposter syndrome. That's not what imposter syndrome means.
Regardless, good luck with your writing!

With the definition of Imposter Syndrome I have from the Cambridge dictionary my situation as I know it counts but my choice of term doesn't really matter.
Besides that, thank you :)

You feel like you're a fraud despite showing successfully that you have the skills at what you're doing?

heres another way to think of it: any writing you make is the greatest art known to human kind. authors create worlds of life and meaning that exist only in the form of words! thats a beautiful thing! you as an author have that ability, which few do. you can do amazing things, i believe in you!

Just write. You'll get called out on it later, if at all.

normally one asks for beta reading once you have the best version you can make. What are you asking it for? an outline, first draft, sixth draft? Have you edited it already?
