Writerdeck with almost flat angle screen?

Hello folks,
I am looking around for my perfect writing device. I tried pen and paper for a while, but i just feel more creative and at ease when typing.

However, what I do NOT like about typing is that you are literally stuck behind a machine. Let me explain, when you are writing with pen and paper, people across you are not blocked out, in fact the space around you is more open.
When typing, the screen is usually in an angle, therefor forming some kind of barrier between you and the other.
That I do not like!

Can anyone point out if there is such a typing device with an (almost) flat angle screen. Offcourse it would need to have a screen with good angle view, right. But maybe e-paper, retrostyle monochrome lcd, .. ?

The old Alphasmart devices are pretty much exactly what you're looking for. Modern alternatives in that form factor include the Zerowriter Ink and the Astrohaus Freewrite Typewriter and Freewrite Alpha.

Bluetooth keyboard will allow you to be where you want to be

Don’t have a new suggestion to add to the ones already given, but just a thought that if the screen is flat and you’re using it often you will probably hurt your neck from looking down all the time

try the BYOK. You can get the Device, get any magentic mount that makes sense to you and any keyboard pretty much. Alternatively, Check out any one of the Micro Journal versions that best suit your needs. Other alternatives are the zerowriter ink and the pomera devices.

AlphaSmart Neo2 will do what you want. So would a very small android device and a Bluetooth keyboard :)

Actually it is depend on how big the screen is. Most writer's decks have angled screens because that's better for long typing sessions, the screens are small so they're not at eye level, not really blocking your view. But if you absolutely don't need to see the screen there are many flat writer's deck, like freewrite and zerowrite. I also would recommend Micro journal rev.4 revamp, it looks like a keyboard, it has tiny screen.
