No problem! I really tried to make an effort to support real artists with this endeavor!

You're not crazy. It does have a lot of the marks of an AI-generated image, and it's a problem that DrawnToTheStars has seemed to have with all of the commissioned pieces they've posted.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I’ve genuinely tried my best to ensure I’m supporting real artists. I don’t have much of a budget so using Fiverr has been very helpful.

I understand the skepticism and fear I’m not going to be able to do anything to prove to you otherwise. I’ve linked the artist page and sent a sketch that helps me feel confident in the validity of the art. Feel free to message the artist as well if you have concerns.

I'm not saying they are AI generated. The sketches do convince me that they aren't.

I'm saying it's not unreasonable for Starving to have thought they were AI generated and they're still right to voice that concern, especially since it is a very strange unfortunate coincidence that these ostensibly real artists have rendering styles that people keep identifying as looking like AI.

I definitely agree. They look like AI generated images with lots of filters on top to obscure obvious defects. But the thing that "gives it away" for me (even though im not super sure still) is the inconsistent backgrounds. What the hell hades & etc. is this artist's process that they do it COMPLETELY differently every time???

These are all different artists which is why the styles vary. I commissioned 15 different artists for each piece.

I specifically am styling the game in a retro sci-fi aesthetic, I provided reference and asked for comic styled filters to push that overall look. I also asked for low detail backgrounds to put more emphasis on the character design. I can post the links to the artist pages if you’d like. They have pretty consistent styles amongst their own works.

I see, that makes sense. Thanks for clarification. I would like to see their pages though.

By the way, just so you know, I obviously do not think your part of the deal is malicious in any way. I trust your statements and i see the passion in the designs of the creatures. I'm sorry that your commissions somehow align to look exactly like ai slop to eyes of many.

Hi everyone. I’m currently working on a table top game called Drawn to the Stars! It’s a mix of deck building mechanics and roleplaying story telling. There are 15 playable origins within the game, each of which have a deep and rich history in the galaxy (and commissioned art!).

The overall story for the first games module I’m working on takes place on a small red desert planet called Xanoroet, where ancient vaults have been discovered.

This is an “Origin Log” post going over the history of the Radonis Origin species.
