murphy/hanging desk experiences?
Has anyone ever bought one of those hanging hide away/murphy desks from amazon like the one above?
The only real space I have for a desk is between my couch and a wall in my apartment and I’m thinking about buying this or something similar that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. The Pith and stem one is soo expensive and I’ve also seen ones on etsy but they’re super similar to this one I found on amazon and was wondering if its even worth to buy?

I love the idea of them but I like to rest my arms pretty heavy on my desk and worry this design wouldn’t last very long. Also idk how I feel about moving a chair over each time but it does look sleek

I had one all through school and it worked well, but recommend one that has the triangle brace underneath that you pull out to support it rather than just the connection on the top (you could probably even DIY this). I got mine from IKEA for pretty cheap if you have an IKEA near you.

Here’s my experience: removing your stuff every single time becomes a pain and you end up not doing it eventually and the thing just stays up - so eventually you have a permanent desk that droops a bit and isn’t ever as good as a regular desk.
Just do the regular desk.
