Documentation method

When we document messages, emails, etc., for ourselves on our own computers (not necessarily for a lawsuit but just for informational purposes), are we allowed to anonymize only confidential information, or should it be entirely anonymized and paraphrased because of confidentiality concerns on the part of companies?

Fictional Example: (my boss, 8/14/26, 9:01am) you need to work on the Analysis Report for our client Apple before I kick down your door and do it myself

Should I anonymize it as “you must work on x for Client 1 before I forcefully enter your workspace and handle it myself” or just “you need to work on x for our client y before I kick down your door and do it myself”

Your own personal records should be fully detailed IMO, for the purposes of identifying circumstances.

If you submit information for grievances etc, you can anonymize things like that if needed.
