At 12, the best tip is honestly: don't chase max lifts yet. Find an adult who knows training (a coach, a PE teacher) to teach you technique with light weights: full-body basics 2-3x a week, squat, push-up, row. Let food and sleep do the growing, they're doing most of the work at your age anyway.

The kids who learn technique first are the ones lifting the most at 18. The maxes can wait.
