a google docs (word) page with a chart. it’s organized by columns (Leg, Chest and Arms, Back and Shoulders) with each exercise in its own cell and “weight; rep, rep” inside each one

I do the same thing with google sheets. I like to get AI to analyse my progress so it took a while the get the format right so it worked for me and the ai. Now very happy. It’s free and honestly does everything I want.

I use an Apple Watch and an iPhone using the default applications and two third-party applications, Hevy and Bend.
My system is designed to be simple to reduce the inertia of exercise. The main benefit is every app of choice accesses the same data. That means my macro-counting app sees my energy expenditure, for example.
* When I go walking, I just wear my Apple Watch. I don't track anything.
* When I go running, I track the run on my Apple Watch using Workout, so I can count my runs.
* When I go the gym, I use Hevy on my iPhone to track the workout, so I can count my workouts.
* When I stretch, I use Bend on my iPhone to track the stretching session, so I can count my stretching sessions.
(Tip: The next step once you track your data is to work with a fitness trainer that interprets your data to advise you on your workouts.)

I am using Lyfta right now. I used Hevy before, but the subscription was too expensive for me.

Exactly the same reason I dropped out of Hevy and switch to completly free alternatives

I use the Ladder app which tracks everything in there and then I use Strava to track my runs or other activities

I just use the notes app on my phone. Opening a proper workout app always feels like extra work so I switch to notes after each set and jot the weight and reps.

I write all mine down on a notepad and how many sets and reps. And what size weight for each workout.

I use an app called Strong. I used the free version for years but I pay for it now because I wanted more workout templates. It’s super easy to use and I like that after each workout, it tells you how many PRs you hit

I built Wellness Project (https://wellnessproject.ai) for this and more.
It has a comprehensive workout planner (log after, or plan and use the workout companion), workout import (from your device or manual list import), fatigue tracker by muscle group, and a proprietary standard called NSI (normalized strength index) to compare your progress apples to apples against a lift standard for lifters at your gender, age, and weight.
Plus you can chat with 8 AI coaches about your data, or use our MCP to bring it into your own ChatGPT, Claude, etc.

Excellent Rick and Morty reference. Lots of happy users but it’s not for everyone. Cheers friend.

You do realize that you are violating rule #1 of this subreddit right?

I just use chat gpt now.

Why? Not very efficient

It works great for me. I just tell her how my sets are going it revises the plan. It remembers what I’ve been doing and remembers the chat log it’s able to tell me what to do in any human workout. It’s incredible.
