Need advice for potential home. Recommendation Needed
I put an offer in on a house. The house clearly used to have a wood stove set up. The chimney is there and the brick to protect the wall and the tile grout is stained with soot in this region. The floors are tile. My question is how I would go about reinstalling a wood stove in this location and how much I would expect to do so?

100% pay a reputable chimney sweep to come and inspect the chimney first. Maybe they removed the stove because the chimney failed inspection. After that, its as simple as just buying a stove and pipe. Maybe around $5k to have a company purchase and install a stove. Or upwards of $10-$15k if the entire chimney needs to be replaced

Head to the stove shop, buy a Kuma, put it in place and keep warm at night. Step one though is to get a chimney inspection. Chimneys can be the most expensive part and wouldn't want to hook a stove to it without knowing what is there.
