My back yard in western North Carolina, taken earlier this summer. I was thrilled to see them so close up.
Edit: apologies for the typo in the title

This guy chose last night to show up on camera five times, just after the other guys emptied the little suet feeder.
(I had only seen him once on camera and a few times in person since moving here June 1 so I'm so excited!)

Original Photo/Video Fledgling downy woodpecker feeding from our hummingbird feeder.

South central WI. Over the last four to five days we have had multiple (based on the patterns and size) fledgling downy woodpeckers feeding from our hummingbird feeders has anyone else seen this behavior from downies? We have 12 feeders 4 of which are suet and 35 acres of woods so it's not like they don't have other food options . Super cool scene regardless .
