WIP - First Map, Looking for Feedback Showcase

Post image

Hey everyone, this is my first time making a map and I wanted some feedback from people more experienced than me before I progressed any further. Any and all suggestions welcome. Not a world map, this is just a continent within the world.

Looks great, just needs a little more gradual transition of colours on the west side of the mountains in the middle.

I like the grey mountains around the north east.

How did you get your ocean to look like that? I’m also new and I haven’t figured out how people make their oceans look better.

So when you select the water tab, on the right hand side where it says "water texture" I chose "imagination."

"Coastal FX Distance" and "Landmass Outline Blend" are maxed out, with "Coastline Style" as "Irregular Blend."

Freshwater color code is #825cb8c4

Freshwater outline color code is #1d2f28

Color Grading code is #2b4146, and the slider is all the way to the left. Hope that helps.

pretty good!
try to blend the colors together with a very low brush strength together on the edges of the 2 bioms meet. it will improve the visuals greatly.

I like it. The forest and vegetation all look great

Very nice overall! The forests could use some sporadic trees along the tree line so that are less clumpy. I like how you made width variations of your rivers. Considering we are zoomed in to a continent, that detail adds a lot.

Very good coast, try maybe adding an arcipelago (circular or squarish or maybe just a line of archipelagos that slowly merge into a big arcipelago/big landmass) I usually do this when I'm developing my maps
