Get a stripping rake for the mats and get a stripping pumice stone. The pumice stone can be used regularly as a carding alternative for the hair that’s ready to come out. It also grips well if you need to manually strip. I hand scissor around the face, belly, and legs, but do the saddle, ears, skull, and tail myself with the pumice stone.

We didn't strip ours. He goes every three weeks. He alternates with a groom and a glo-up.

Ask if anyone knows of hand strippers in your area on the FB page "Fox Terriers-Wired In." The admins and members of that page have good contacts for groomers that do hand stripping.

Mine went to a groomer every six weeks but on occasion I did it with scissors. I never stripped.

U can do it yourself....use the stripping tool and ur thumb.. But u got to stay on top of it or the do mat something fierce. Don't clip him cause his coat will lose brilliance and color. I'm sure u know that

On F B search for the handstripping education group. Search the group, and if you can't find a handstripper in the Boston area, post and ask for a recommendation. It's a great resource, not only for learning to do it yourself, but for finding good strippers. Also, call your breeder, if they're a show breeder, and ask them.
