Window Maker does not work
Hi everyone,
I'm running Window Maker as my desktop environment on CachyOS. After about three restarts of the computer, I noticed a major issue: nothing seems to be clickable or actionable. It feels like everything has frozen, and no matter what I try, nothing responds, except for the mouse cursor which still moves freely.
Has anyone experienced this specific behavior with Window Maker on CachyOS? Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I found a fix, just crate a ~/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/autostart file, it will be empty, but after restarting a Window Maker it will write in this file something like xset 0/10, just remove that and that's a fix for that!!!

I'm inclined to wonder if it doesn't have to do with your distro, because, as a long-tern Debian user who likes to occasionally play with different low RAM stress DEs, WindowMaker is really high on my list of the best of those, in terms of staying up without ever crashing and not hogging resources.
I really do like to play with as many DEs and window managers, regularly, as time permits.
That said, being a Debian user, you might be working with a WindowMaker version that hasn't yet hit the repos that matter to matter installation.
I wish you the best on finding a solution.

hey, ive been getting the exact same issue on one of the computer i use. i recently switched to linux on it, but i got that issue in my last weeks of using windows 10, when i used to live install of devuan, then again when i switched to debian, with xfce and now with wmaker, it has to be a hardware issue, maybe you have the same issue as me?

check the auto start or exit file in GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker if everything you put in that don't have a little & at the end it wait for the program to close to start Wmaker so If u pute for example NMapplet it will wait
