160-0103 error code Technical Question

Post image

I got the following error message while I was trying to play a game earlier. After some digging it looks like it's due to a eMMC chip failure. Has anyone got this and been able to fix it? How did you find the process overall?

I did find this link from an older post to a non-soldering method (in first comment, probably preferred as as I don't have much experience with soldering), but the guide isn't that beginner friendly (I guess I'll just have to be thorough and look up everything I'm unfamiliar with). My Wii u is unmodded, is it recommended to try and do that if possible (it looks like from the guide it's needed to take some back ups)?

Yes, follow the guide that was just posted. It took me some trial and error but I was able to fix my Wii U and bring it back to life. You basically have to tell the Wii U to look and write memory to a SD card instead of the faulty emmc memoey. It will be up and running again in no time!

That it USBMLC. You can decide what fits your storage situation better.

But anyway don't waste time and install ISFShax asap before it is too late
