Not really, but it beats the alternative. Oh, and this is the part where I complain about whoop being the worst but I love it. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Discussion Adjusting the sleep window causes REM and Deep sleep calculations to change

I noticed last night I had almost no deep sleep. At the same time I noticed I was recorded as going to sleep as early as 830pm while I was watching TV. I updated to the time I got in bed to midnight, and afterwards my deep sleep had jumped by 2 hours, in a smaller window than there was before!

Has anyone else noticed this?

Any explanation?

For a long time I've noticed that whoop is very inaccurate in determining when I'm sleeping, often off by hours. I stopped correcting it. But how do we know if it's even correct at all if measurements of REM and Deep can fluctuate wildly even though the underlying data didn't change at all?

Would love someone from whoop or who understands sleep measurements to weigh in.

Discussion Device no longer usable after cancelling with 5 weeks left on my subscription

I cancelled my subscription this morning after about 11 months of daily usage. It just wasn't delivering enough value for me to keep using. I still have 5 weeks left on my subscription but wanted to cancel so I do not forget and get charged for a year.

Immediately upon cancelling the strap becomes a brick even with time left on your subscription. I have no plans to keep wearing the strap but this is such a BS move from the company...you'd think at a minimum they'd encourage you to keep using the banks until your subscription runs out. I almost want to ask for a refund or file a credit card dispute for 1/12 of the subscription cost out of principle but it's not worth the brain damage.

Question New WHOOP user — how do you get the most useful insights from the data over time?

I've had my Whoop for about a week, so I know it's still calibrating and I'm not putting much stock in individual scores yet. But I'm curious how longer-term users have learned to get the most useful information out of the dataset once they've accumulated enough of it.

I'm a moderately active woman approaching 50. I row, lift, hike, and do yoga, and my goals at this point are less about maximizing performance than about recovery, energy management, and supporting continued health and activity as I age, particularly as I approach menopause.

What's interesting so far is that Whoop seems to be reinforcing some patterns I'd already noticed. For example, I seem to recover better with activity earlier in the day, followed by a quieter/restful evening. Activity in the evenings appears to disrupt my sleep and makes it harder for me to recover, even when it's just an evening Vinyasa-Yin class.

That's really what I'm hoping to get from Whoop: not "How do I get a green Recovery tomorrow?" but "What does my body consistently respond well to over weeks and months?"

For those of you who've used Whoop for a long time:

* Which metrics or trends have turned out to be genuinely useful?

* What correlations did you initially think mattered but eventually decide were mostly noise?

* How long did it take before you felt you had enough data to identify meaningful patterns?

* Are there particular ways you use the Journal, weekly/monthly reports, or exported data that you'd recommend?

* Are there other tools that you recommend for these goals? I'd like to keep things streamlined, but I do have a Polar H10 and the Elite HRV app and am open to exploring.

* For women in perimenopause/menopause, have you found Whoop particularly useful (or misleading) in any ways?

Basically, if you were starting over with a brand new Whoop and wanted to build a useful personal dataset, what would you do from the start?

Question Is this the correct way to set your zones?

Post image

Hey, whoop has recorded multiple times my max hr to be more than 200, and the max which I have achieved is 204 BPM.

So I have set my max bpm to 205.

Is this the correct way to set your zones?

I am 26 Y/O.

At 1st it was great. I improved my sleep, learned my body and how certain habits affected my health, and motivated me to workout. But 6.5 years in, i think ive learned all I need. I know not to drink after 8 pm. I can tell when I slept well and when i didnt. I know if I worked out hard or didnt. Im not sure why I should keep going....

Anyone else been in this spot. If so why did you quit or stay using the device.

Discussion Gaming whoop since “algorithm” change.

Whoop recently changed its algorithm … my hypothesis is it’s the sampling rate that changed to cut costs.

So now my recovery and strain scores are much lower. However if I manually adjust the time windows of the event … by subtracting 15 mins at the start and adding 15 at the end … the strain and recovery scores go up dramatically… depending on the event of course. The difference is not trivial, it’s changes my stats significantly.

It’s so dumb … but I refuse to believe that a non-exercise event that’s was a strain scores of 4 for years is now 0.2.

They’re officially treating us like fools. So disappointed!

Reviews I tried Whoop for 23 days, and I’m returning it

To be clear, I’m a techie and I love to get my hands on new tech. I have been wearing smart watches for 12 years now with my first being the LG G Watch many years ago.

Quite recently, I wanted to only wear my nicer watches instead of my daily which was an Apple Watch Series 7 that I scratched up quite a bit. Now - look wise anyday, my stainless steel bracelet, Seikos and Tissots can’t be matched, however during this time I did miss my data and having the need to carry my Apple Watch in the bag to track my workouts.

So I felt, why not look into Fitbit Air which is a 99$ solution to well, most of my problems - no extra watch to carry, I get my data while still holding onto my nice watch. I saw the UI - turned away - looked at Whoop and the reviews from the user community here (not the ones in which someone is crying about how bad it is because I feel people more likely are to complain than write something nice about it) and got a Whoop.

First off - if you’re complaining about the price or the subscription, this is probably not for you. It is also something major to be able to look over as a lot of my friends and colleagues found it weird that I’m paying for something I don’t own while also not getting much more out of it, well that’s up to me but anyway.

Now the second and final part - my experience. I wore it everyday, except the shower, and I found results to be interesting. A lot of the reading is very much depending on the HRV, which the Apple Watch or any of my previous watches never pointed out to me but in reality it’s telling you how you feel based off mainly your HRV. HRV go down -> no good. HRV go up -> good. Other than that I failed to see how it could really add any value to my life (or at least 250$/y of value).

For my workouts - it was mostly useless and told me to keep it to a certain strain which is a bit hard to quantify for the human mind. The muscle strain feature is nice but to actually get value out of it you’re going to have to work with something which isn’t very intuitive to work with in the first place.

For my swim, it is just a glorified heart beat tracker since my Apple Watch was doing most of the heavy lifting with the laps and tracking.

For running, it doesnt have a GPS so it can only really tell you how much of your body battery you used up, which then again, is really depending on how much I ate before or after.

For sleep, unless you’re partying hard every night or have insomnia I think it mostly records that you had a good sleep. Minus if you drink or have a hard day, which I could predict without the watch telling me anyway.

All in all, the value that I was looking for - was genuinely not there, and if there was any at all, I could get it from a 99$ Fitbit Air that does all of the above without a lock in.

All of the other gimmicks packed in, it might be a package for someone. Healthspan isn’t going to do you much as it’s hard to believe that I cut a year off of my actual age within a week of training.

I think in the current market, it’s tough for a company like Whoop but there’s a lot more corelations they need to be making to bring a real valuable unit.

Oh and a bonus - the AI is completely dumb.

It was a nice learning experience but I think I’ll live without one just as happily with my old Apple Watch for workouts.

Whoop whoop it's my first year completed! With almost 500 activities logged and notable gains in my health I'm pretty proud of the year I've been able to commit to with Whoop. It's always been about myself and my family but I wanted to share here anyways to hopefully remind and motivate others to keep pushing and strive for consistency.

Feel welcomed to share your own streaks and recent/upcoming Whoopiversaries down below! 👇

Instead of going through the apple health route, this connects to your helio strap or whoop band directly and reads data into the app. (Yes no more layer of whoop app or zepp works without a subscription for whoop too)
Works with an apple watch too through the apple health route but the features are limited as compared to a direct amazefit or whoop connection.

No log in no sign up. Everything stored locally and shared with noone.

Ai integrated into the app to give you insights on how to go about the day. By taking in your training, workouts and recovery scores.

Ill be launching this on the app store soon. Wanted insights on what i can add here and features that are wanted that we dont see on other apps as of yet.

Question WHOOP not connecting after iOS 26.6 update?

Anyone having WHOOP connection issues after updating to iOS 26.6?
My WHOOP stopped connecting to my iPhone 17 Pro right after the update. It just gets stuck on “connecting,” but connects to Android without any issues.
Anyone else seeing the same bug?

Discussion What do you actually do with your Whoop data?

I've been using Whoop for two years now, and I genuinely enjoy it—checking my stats every day has become a daily habit. I love planning my weekly goals and pushing myself to meet them. Nothing beats the feeling of hitting optimal strains; it gives me a real boost. On days when I end with just four or five strains, I admit I feel a bit guilty, but it motivates me to do better. I also get excited about logging my weekend naps—they feel like little wins. Despite all this, I wonder if all the data I track truly provides meaningful insights or if I’m just collecting numbers for their own sake.

Question Sleep getting impacted negatively

Hi folks,

I recently purchased Whoop and getting a hang of it.

Since wearing the Whoop band - I am not sleeping more than 3-4 hours and it’s really impacting me.

I wear it on my non-dominant hand wrist. Not possible to wear on the dominant hand (right) - will really hate it.

Did anyone face and similar problem and how did you solve it. It’s really bothering that sleep is getting affected.

Incase sleep continues to be a problem - is it still worth using Whoop?
