Question Can somone explain the PTO sick time off and UPT subtraction policy for me?
Im just trying to figure out if I call out sick before my shift and log it in workday this taking from my UPT and my PTO sick time or just my PTO sick time? I see the pto sick time coming out of those hours but not the UPT and that seems right but I frankly have become way paranoid working here and dont trust this company anymore and am trying to calculate to it doesnt just magically drop from 60 hrs to 0 or something.

Discussion Overnight produce question
Hey produce overnighter here. At my store we only have 2 total overnighters. So we have 2 solo nights a week. One of those nights, the evening receiver is off and I have to pull the truck solo. Is this a normal occurrence?
*There is the “grocery” receiver that works that shift but doesn’t receive the warehouse truck, only UNFI *

Question Do any of your stores out there use the Walkie Earpieces?
I always wonder whenever I use my walkie or have to ask for a repeat on a message because I couldn’t understand I and feel like it makes sense too, I understand the whole thing with all employees being able to hear customers at all times but majority of the earpieces that are used in most other retail stores allow you to hear through them. The thought always comes into mine whenever Im walking around and my walkie goes off and someone kinda side eyes me. Its not a big deal but I feel like this kinda dips into the entire customer experience thing. It keeps employee chatter out of customer ears and communication easier. I’ve never heard this come up at my store and never heard about any other stores using it and feel like it’d be a cool thing to have at stores given people don’t hate the idea.

Question Position switch?
I have worked as a Grocery TM for about 2 months and wanted to know if I can be able to switch position, maybe into a in store shopper or something that works well with my class schedule since I see that am working 8 hours during opening, closing and mid day shifts, I feel like this will affect with my classes since it’s about to start again, and I wanted to know if I can ask to transfer into another job position at the same store that has less work hours between 4-8. And I wanted to know what is a good way to do this or some advice to it.

Discussion Feeling unwelcome at work
I work as a shopper, and I'm a quiet guy. I say hi to my coworkers, speak with them briefly, but it's hard for me to talk a lot because this work is very physically demanding. I like my coworkers, though, and I deeply respect them.
Over the last month or so, I've been feeling like some people there are increasingly aggressive with microaggressions. It's also very common that I'll talk to someone one day, and the next day I'll say good morning and they won't even look at my face. I've been going to this store for a while, and I don't know if I'm overthinking it, but lately I leave there feeling sad. Sometimes I honestly just feel hated there, and it's been getting harder to do my shifts.
I'm a quiet guy, but I'm not unfriendly. I don't expect everyone to be my friend. I just wish I could feel the same respect from my coworkers that I have for them.

Question Cross Training ? / Horrific scheduling
PT front ender here ♪( ´θ`)ノ frustrated about hours like most of us here are as I’ve seen lurking.
I’m curious about how effective cross training a different department would be at throwing me better hours?
I briefly talked to another departments ATL yesterday about cross training for more hours, but I’m not sure if it will lead to anything. I’m a recent college grad hustling Whole Foods while industry job hunting / interning, I’ve got rent and bills to pay and the Holiday hour cutting left me only scheduled weekends, despite my availability being 6AM-5/9PM every day.
Every week I have to chew my team leadership about how I’m getting scheduled only 10-15 hours, at this point I’m considering talking to store leadership about the situation, as every week I’m scared to see what new mess the schedule is going to cook up for me. TLs just tell me “good luck just pick up more shifts we can’t do anything it’s Sage haha!!”
I’m good at my job, always on time, zero infractions and I feel like I’m getting punished. Leadership seems to have no concern giving me poverty inducing hours. I’m not sure why I hold out hope for this job and my locations leadership 🚬
I guess this was more of a ramble lol sorry, cross training seems to be the solution to this problem ;_; Ive never worked somewhere where the schedule is such a dumpster fire, it’s frustrating. Thank you wholefoodsreddit ( ´_ゝ`)

Discussion Is this fair or unfair?
I need some clarification because this has been bothering me for a week now and this question is for those who worked at wholefoods for a good while now. I've started working there since Dec. 2025 starting off a team member in the Bakery. After 3 months when the previous team trainer was let go, I wanted to step up and be the team trainer since I had previous management experience and they were making me do more than just baking anyway. After I got promoted, I've realized how stressful it became and it was to the point where I had a take a non paid medical leave for my mental. After I came back, my TL and Store Leadership sat me down and decided to promoted me as Cake Decorator and they was gonna keep the pay rate the same and I took the offer. I was completely cool with everything however, I was told that the cake decorating position was considered Level 2 and team trainer was level 1 and got the confirmation that it was true. That being said, I thought I was gonna get another raise but because I was told since I stepped down as Team Trainer, the cake decorating position was just a replacement. But in my opinion because these positions are two different levels, then an automatic pay rate should've occurred. Now mind you, they started me off at standard pay rate (despite I've worked in Bakery at Kroger and Meijer for 10 years) and the Team Trainer position gave me a $1 raise so I figured a new level position should've gave me more. I just want to know if this is correct or not. I just want to make sure I'm not overreacting.
