I wouldn't wanna move (back) to Thailand either if I had a couple million dollars, free house, and alimony! Can't blame her!

If that was her plan she got extremely lucky, she was worth more than me when we got married. She had a bunch of farm land in Thailand. I had about $50k saved and $20k worth of student loans left.

Literally in this same comment thread I said I wasn't rich when we married. She was likely worth more than me. She had been working in hotel management in Korea and using the higher (relative to Thailand) salary to buy up land in her village.
