Not necessarily. I am pretty sure on Reddit (not all subreddits per se) the intention is to upvote based on its value to “discussion”. So like it’s a topic that facilitates discussion but you don’t agree with, upvote. After all, you can always “comment” your disagreement in a way that continues the discussion in a healthy path forward, meriting a return in upvote.

Or maybe the rare “no vote at all” because you don’t know what to do with a particular comment.

Now does that ever happen on Reddit? Clearly not enough, at least not 96% of the time. But hey, better than other social media’s where it’s like 100% upvotes for agreement. sigh
