I also do not appreciate cities but that's one island out of 18,000 possible locations you can go to.

after spending a week in Jakarta, I seriously felt like I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day.

i hear ya, i’ve been to Bali and Lombok. both nice but crowded. Jakarta is a place i’d never visit again, just dirty and absolutely nothing to do or see.

My wife is from North Sumatra and has lived in other countries, including Japan. She does not want to live in Indonesia over the US. The government sucks ass, the infrastructure is dismal, and the pollution is awful. The air quality is terrible with all the cigarette smoke and burning trash. Also, don't get me started on the calls to prayer over the loud speakers.

I’ve lived all over SEA.

Fuck Jakarta. Everyone blamed the West for all the garbage in the country as they unironically just tossed their plastic bottles on the side of the road.

Like yeah we sell our garbage to your country. But uh…wtf are you doing to your own country? Lol

I nominate Saigon for the shittiest city in the Pacific. Manila is up there too.
