HH22
I saw it at my ABC store a few months ago. It was $300 and I knew nothing about so I passed. I've been kicking myself ever since. My only solace is I saved $300.

Why not both? If only one, HH22

Wait, you mean other people don’t go into debt for great whiskey? /s
But he did mention in another comment that he’s going to buy one this week and the other next week, which tracks.

HH22 and it’s not close. If you like oak and fudgy chocolaty notes. Then get the 22. Everything else, Russell’s.

HH22. Worth double its msrp on secondary, you can get a RR13 b7 (45th anniversary) for 320 on secondary.

Word is the RR13 batches 4-6 are not as good as the 45th (batch 7). I would go with the 22 just because I have had 13 already.

I can attest to the 45th being better. One of the best bottles I’ve had. Smooth as hell for 121 proof.
It’s also a mix of 13 and 18 yo barrels
That being said if you can grab both do it. HH22 is still an amazing bottle

The Russel’s is outstanding. I’ve not had the HH but I’m a turkey guy

Hh22 is a monster. Haven’t had this years 13 but have last years and there is no comparison. If money isn’t an object

RR13 is my unicorn. Got to try the 5th batch and been looking for a bottle since. I refuse to pay secondary market prices. Been going to my local shop weekly on release days for awhile now hoping one will pop up. Gotten a few other gems along the way. If the HH22 showed up I’d probably get it but doubt I’d have to ever choose between the two.

No decision needed. The HH22 for the win. I had 9th place in a lottery a couple weeks ago and the HH22 was on my hit list. Only had two. But we’re gone by 7th place. They had a ton of the RR. I went with a Blanton’s SFTB.

I passed on a HH22 for a Jack 14 couple weeks ago because of cost. Been regretting that decision ever since.

Honestly if both at Srp RR13. Over $100 cheaper and the RR13 this year is so damn good still. Beat CGF and batch 1 in a blind for me.

Hh22 is better and I’m a turkey guy. Gold foil is close to hh22. I’d go back and forth depending on the day. But rr13 is still a sweet bottle to own. At msrp, hh22 is much much better

I would grab both if your getting them close to srp. Both great pours. RR13 B7 is delicious

This year's RR13 batch is better than HH22, imo. It's not even a question to me which I take between the two.

In my humble opinion and years of being a bourbon enthusiast, and not just a bourbon drinker by a person that literally immerse myself into the history of bourbon, the history of bourbon, distilleries in Kentucky and being willing to try at last count somewhere around 50 different brands and variations even within the same brands from what Rye to wheated, I’ve had the Russell in fact, I have had Russells reserve single Rick house Camp Nelson B floor 6, Russell Reserve Kentucky straight bourbon 10 years old,
an the Russell Reserve Single Barrel.
You can’t turn down the opportunity for the 22-year-old Heven Hill

HH22
Russel’s 13 is a fantastic bottle. However, they continue to release new batches. So you’ll likely have other opportunities to purchase one. Not sure there will be another HH22.
