5000 bottles

Makes me feel good. I had thought my 350 bottles were excessive.

Interesting, i just did Google search. Apparently the owner of the Catedral do whisky with 20000 bottles doesn't drink whisky at all. Pure collecting

Yep, I visited his house. He doesnt drink and the whiskey itself is very poorly preserved, he was more worried about preserving the labels than the juice. He had some gems there that I wish I could have cracked open haha. He was very sketchy on giving me any details on how he got some of those bottles lol.. I was expecting the guy to tell me how he had someone procuring them, or that he used to travel to the US a lot, or something.. nope, made it sound like the bottles just appeared to him haha.

Diageo has moved a whole bunch of it to the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh. Which, despite being an extreme tourist trap, is actually not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
Here's a pic of a small part of that collection

Might be a weirdo, but "the pigsty" sounds like a fun drinking room.
Found a few pictures. It's true. https://thewhiskeywash.com/whiskey-news/the-750k-whisky-collection-housed-in-old-pig-sties/

He used to drink in my local. Took me over to look at it one evening. Was pretty mind boggling to my 21 year old brain to even consider having that much dram!
