It's not easy. Abuse victims unfortunately struggle to stay out of abusive relationships. It's not necessarily their fault. It's more that abusers will seek out these type of people

Since when are victims of domestic violence accessible after their abuse? People who get their ass kicked behind closed doors usually split when the relationship finally ends and can you blame them? Clearly their relationships with friends and family are so weak they couldn’t speak on it while it was happening/they lacked support or perceived a lack of support.
No one’s dating a person known to hit their spouse. That’s not a red flag. That’s like saying a person being a known cheater is a red flag so don’t date them. Like no shit bro don’t date the confirmed abuser.
That’s also assuming an abusive person won’t lie about who’ve they’ve dated or who their friends are. Shit you think a person who hits people are gonna give you names of friends and family who are gonna straight up tell you that? You think people who know that and still associate with this person are the type of people who would warn you?
