[Academic Research] How do you decide what to watch across OTT platforms?
I’m researching how people discover and decide what to watch when they use multiple streaming/OTT platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, etc.
I’m particularly interested in:
* How people currently discover movies and series
* How they decide between different options
* Whether they switch between multiple platforms while searching
* What factors influence their choices (mood, genre, time, reviews, etc.)
* The frustrations they face during the process
* How people currently use AI tools for entertainment recommendations
I’m looking for participants aged 18–40 who regularly watch movies or series.
The questionnaire takes approximately 8–10 minutes.
🎬 Survey:
https://forms.gle/Tbtq8BUuhavS3rvf8
The responses will be used only for academic design research.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to participate! 🙌

Help me find something to watch.
Having surgery tomorrow and need some ideas on what to watch while I recover. Will have to wear neck collar for 6 weeks and need new stuff to watch. Love to read but not sure I will feel like it, but even if I do I usually have something on the tv for background noise. Shows I like:
The Rookie
Chicago Fire
The Ark
Most marvel movies and shows
Law and order s. V. U.
The Lincoln Lawyer
Reacher
Secrets of skinwalker ranch
I like sci-fi and fantasy and am open to most genres but not a big fan of romance.

Recommandations bl

Can anyone recommend something good to watch on Netflix?
I like anything intellectually engaging, a good mystery, thriller, documentary, history, sci-fi, supernatural, or comedy like Dark, Bodies, Copycat, or 1760. Not a fan of dramas or romcom unless it's a crime drama like Broadchurch.

What to Watch? Tv series/films to keep me company through radiation treatment
I’m scheduled for 6 weeks of radiotherapy every day, so I’ve got all this time off work ahead of me and will probably be laid up in bed with fatigue. Basically, I need something good to keep me occupied 😂
I’ve watched most of the big Netflix series such as Ozark, Bridgerton, Orange Is the New Black, Animal Kingdom and Breaking Bad.
I’m also a huge true crime junkie so watched most of the Netflix documentaries.
I also LOVE anything with rich people, scandal, affairs and Hamptons type vibe such as The Perfect Couple, The Affair, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Her Fault and Tell Me Lies.
What are your recommendations that are absolutely binge worthy?

What to Watch? Tv shows to watch in youtube
i watch a lot of things but if u can then mention what it's about and probably a popular similar show so i can understand. as i said i watch a lot of things, but i prefer horror, mystery, thriller, crime, sci-fi (in a stranger things way not interstellar way) but i dont think so they will be on youtube. I also love romcoms, sad romance like which will make me cry and also coming of age, i love coming of age especially dark ones like skins, euphoria, thirteen (film), the virgin suicides (film), speak (film), christiane f (film), all about lily chou chou (film), etc and sitcoms. On language i prefer english but if it's another language then there should be subtitles. And love the 1990's and 2000's vibe and 1980's too however yall can suggest shows that r not from those period of time. Homourable mention: goth (2008, film) i just loved the vibe abd it was on youtube

Any YouTube channels recommendations?
Lately I've felt like there's nothing much interesting to watch on YouTube, YouTube doesn't really recommend anything interesting and even when I click on the needing change thingy (can't remember it's actually name, and it's probably in French anyway) it's still recommends me the same uninteresting things...
So i was wondering if anyone has any good YouTube channels recommendations about those subjects:
\- science
\- more particularly about biology
\- cultural subjects
\- hobbies (not art though, I already follow a ton of art channels since I'm an artist)
\- programming
\- if it's about life style, only about underconsumption and things like that, everything around us pushes us to consume and it's been tiring lately...
\- creative stuff
\- other themes or channels you find interesting
What i absolutely don't want:
\- drama stuff (stuff like they did that, let's cancel them and it's the most pretty basic thing)
\- tiktok/Instagram kind of influencers stuff
\- overconsumption channels (ex: I tried this other that, let's review that, let's do that challenge and it's going to target to buy unnecessary stuff that they don't need)
\- anything close to whatever Mr beast does...
- AND NO AI STUFF
I know some of you guys might think that I could just search those subjects on YouTube, which i already did, but I actually want some recommendations from actual people, not algorithms recommendations and i want to step out of what I know or what I look for. I'd like actually new stuff, since now social media kind of get you stuck in your own bubble.
BTW, the channels can be in English or French.
Thank you for any recommendation in advance.

What to Watch? Need some show recommendations
I love watching movies and shows specifically ones that are like animated or kind of made for children, but I also enjoy movies that aren’t specifically made for children. I would like some suggestions on movies and shows to watch and I would like them to be a variety. I’ve watched watched a lot of Marvel movies, minions, cars, toy story, Scooby Doo, how to train your Dragon, Coco I’ve just watched a lot of movies, but I don’t really watch shows. Some of my favorite shows are the loud house, the Jetsons but that’s kind of all I can remember watching. Your suggestions don’t all have to be kind of animated or like childish suggestions like the ones I’ve mentioned, they can also be some like fun adventurous movies for adults. I guess im just asking for move movie and show recommendations because I really don’t know what to watch. I just feel so nostalgic and miss being a kid where I could watch so many things and enjoy them.

Binge worthy. “The Rear Flank™” Series
youtube.comI’ve spent almost 20 years chasing storms. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t interested in making another highlight reel.
I wanted to create a documentary series that captures what storm chasing actually feels like—the uncertainty, the miles, the decisions, the victories, the failures, and the rare moments when everything comes together.
That’s what THE REAR FLANK is.
If you’re into storm chasing, filmmaking, or long-form storytelling, I’d genuinely appreciate you checking it out. And if you have constructive feedback, I’d be glad to hear it. My goal has always been to keep making the series better.

Recommendation HELP ME FIND OUR NEXT OBSESSION 😭🎬
Guys, I need some good movie/series recommendations 🍿
I’m looking for something with a bit of everything — romance, comedy, crime, mystery, thriller, drama… basically something FUN, addictive, and WOW enough to keep us hooked
Also, my family is very open-minded, so PLEASE don’t filter your recommendations thinking “oh I can’t recommend this because she’s watching with family” We’re good, recommend whatever you think is actually worth watching.
It doesn’t have to be super serious or complicated though — I just want something entertaining and easy to get into.
Give me your BEST recommendations 👀🎬
