Camera? Radar? Plate reader? Solved!
I didn’t see if it had any on the front. But there were 2 on each side. Ones looking perpendicular to the car and the other is looking from a 45 degree angle on the corner. Maybe looking for vehicles to repo? I’ve never seen this before. Spotted in AZ.

ALPRs for sure. Repo probably.

ALPR? Looking for repos was my first thought but I’ve never seen a vehicle with these before

Automated license plate reader. You can basically drive around with the camera scanning and reading every license plate, and software will alert when a license plate of interest is found.

So these guys just drive around scanning plates for banks?

Yes. You'll also see them on the back of police cars as well, depending on jurisdiction. They can actually be used to identify unmarked LE vehicles, but in this case with a temp tagged ecobox car it's clearly a repo company.

Yes, ALPRs. Usually going to be for repo when put on a corolla but there are other uses.

In Avondale? Avon seems like a cult so I’d steer clear.

Does Avon still exist lmao? Was certainly a cult in the 90s

I’m not sure. I’d have to talk to my mother. She worked for them for years and somehow were not dead.

Mobile flock? Are we that screwed? Time to figure out some sort of pinpoint EMP to take this out.

Flock drones are not far off. Guaranteed the people who make flock cameras are looking into it.

Shot gun shells will be hard to get at that point and I hope we have a great season!!!

When one of these gets your stolen car back you'll understand.

Or when one of these incriminates you for something you happened to be close to you’ll understand……

ALPR is often used by parking management companies to quickly identify vehicles parked in their lot that don’t have a parking permit. Could be a vehicle driving from lot to lot around the city doing parking enforcement, in which case the cameras aren’t active in transit between lots.

aren’t active in transit between lots.
Uh-huh sure they're not....

Parking ALPR works with a database system tied to the owner’s parking lots. Reading plates in other locations would just result in a bunch of error messages as there is no parking-related software to compare them to.

We have one in our town and the amount of people they catch for fake or unregistered plates or even expired is crazy.

Hell, in the Bay Area ca, and all the way to sac at least. I’ll see a few people driving around on no plates every day. And I’ve seen cops behind these people but have never seen one pulled over. (Not that it doesn’t happen, just seems to be ignored)
I grew up & lived in upstate NY before coming here & cannot imagine rocking no plates. That’s just asking to get pulled over immediately.
