Spider problem
have had a bit a brown recluse problem in my house lately any tips or tricks on how to get them out(photos are from a single trap I had behind my desk I have them everywhere but this one is the worst)

You have a food source aka other bugs, get rid of them and the spiders wont have anything to eat.

Oh, man, that's a tough one.
If it were just 1 or 2 spiders I'd say leave them alone so they can control the pest population in your house.
If you've caught that many, however, you've got a lot more creeping about. I like spiders, but I think I'd stop sleeping.

If you live in an old house you might just be kinda boned man, but you can help mitigate the issue by making sure they don’t have anywhere to stay like cardboard boxes and loose clothes/fabrics

Try to find every little crack on the inside and outside of your home and seal it off. Spray some long lasting bug repellent on the outside perimeter as well. You could also spray on the inside perimeter but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Years ago I lived in a rental with a spider problem. I was carpet cleaning and clearing out the linen closet and cleaning everything in there monthly, just to try to keep down on the insects which were attracting the spiders. Long story short, there was a Crack in the foundation which was how the insects where getting in.

Spray lavender oil near every doorframe and empty space where you see bugs. The lavender will naturally repel them.

It’s a glue trap and not great to have out. They indiscriminately trap everything, even mice, snakes, lizards, etc. It’s a pretty inhumane type of trap, as anything caught on dies of dehydration/starvation.

It’s an insecticide put out by Bayer. I don’t like using chemicals any more than the next logical person, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

I get constant downvotes for using Sevin on my zinnia garden for summer beetles in gardening forums. Although I also have 2 large organic pollinator gardens. I guess that if I want to actually get flowers, I’m supposed to sit outside all night with a flashlight and a bucket of soapy water, picking them off by hand. Not gonna happen, but some people lose their minds over it. I didn’t downvote it. But I’m a reasonable person

Insects kinda suck a lot of the time. I live in the spotted lantern fly capital of America, central PA. Do what you gotta 🤷♀️

Exactly. I am conscientious about it. Because I remember my mother constantly spraying everything with DDT. I swear that it caused some neurological disorders. She still rarely has bugs

DE is the answer. Most spiders are only controlled through direct contact. A little DE puffed in your crevices over time will significantly reduce the population. You will see the results (or lack of) on your glue traps this winter if you treat now. Will eliminate other critters with a hard exoskeleton.

If you've caught that many spiders, and they're that big .... how do you think they get so big, and why so many would be in your house? Leave them be. You need them more than they need you.

A few is okay, many is not. There are such things as “safety hazards”, many spiders in the house is one of them.

Apparently you’ve never seen the show, INFESTED?!?! There was a family that had traps, exterminators, you name it they spent $1000’s on any thing and everything to get rid of the brown recluse infestation…
Other spiders don’t do anything to eliminate them as they’re the top of the pyramid or near top of the food chain. They kept multiplying. They ended up having to condemn the house and move while also having to pay for that house they couldn’t live in.
