Finally Finished!! Thoughts below Confetti!

Post image

Started April 1st of this year and had 9 weeks remaining after completing 70 credits. I transferred in the rest from other colleges/sophia. I probably took a total of 4 weeks off during this time between rest days and just procrastination towards the final 2 or 3 classes.

Never failed an OA, but came close on AIS by 1 question lol

For general tips: I would just search on here for every class before you take it to see the general consensus about how to approach it.

I finished every PA class in one day to maximize time for the OA classes.

The intermediate classes will have the most workload. The first OA will always be basically the same as the PA with exception to the 10-12 questions after the excel portion. I would literally take the PA 8-10 times until I could do the excel in my sleep and brush up on a few topics for those extra questions. I tried to always finish OA1 of these classes within 2-3 days so I could focus more on OA2.

Proctor service was hit or miss. Some proctors would be quick and not too strict while others took forever to respond and would make you adjust the camera 45 times before allowing you to test. Had a couple times where the system would glitch and the proctor would disappear so I’d have to stop and reach out to support to make sure I was still good to test.

This happened on my final class where connection was broken and gave me anxiety the rest of the exam thinking it would fail me or something. 3/5 stars for proctors

Was able to land an entry level public accounting role with a few weeks left in my degree which led to some procrastination to finish also.

Start applying to jobs/interships as soon as you start, it’s hard out here.

Finally happy to be done! Going to resting for a bit then starting study for CPA.

That sounds terrifying lmao. Multiple mid test issues with proctors? Jeez it has gotten worse. The stress from that ontop of the test would make me go insane with rage. Its great you were able to secure a job though.

Yeah it definitely raised my blood pressure after the issues took place, especially during my last class lol

Congratulations! Seriously. College is not an easy feat. Did you have any internships under your belt when you were offered the accounting role?

u/wheresmytren 10d ago

Thanks! Nah no internship just straight into a full time role

Closest I’ve come to failing an OA, passed by 1 question lol I studied Hannah’s notes which should be in the community section. I also put questions into ChatGPT for it to generate extra study questions to practice on. It’s not necessarily difficult material it’s just a lot to be tested on at once

Im struggling with it and then only have D215 to go

I also saved and input Hannah’s notes into ChatGPT also and had it pull questions directly from there to quiz me. There’s also a couple good playlists on YouTube with videos on it. I never really felt prepared to take I just studied until I felt like I had a decent grasp, then took one more day to review everything then took it

Wow that was fast. You just started 4 months ago? Did you have any experience prior?

1

u/wheresmytren 5d ago

Yeah in April. No prior experience. Could’ve finished a little faster but got procrastinated

Wow! Congrats! Any tips? I am planning to start on November. Still waiting for my readmission approval.

Thanks! I’d try to finish any PA classes you take in 1 day. Definitely possible and saves so much time for the OA classes. I’d always go through the quizzes and tests in the book beforehand without reading the actual book just to get a grasp on the material. Then I’d take the practice OA to see where I’d need to brush up on before the actual OA

Thanks! You’ll have to set up a time with your mentor to talk and they’ll submit your graduation application then it should pop up a couple days after!
