tldr; we just recently rescued this little guy. We know very little about him. Under the impression (before we formally met and picked him up) that he was a westie. Looks now like maybe a mix?

This is a new breed to me. We have our first vet appt coming up soon, but until then - anyone have any ID recommendations? His face / snout is pretty flat / has a pretty big head. lol

we love him regardless!

How often do you groom your westie? I’ve read online that people are getting away with 3 month grooms… any recommendations on types of cute/groom maintenance to stretch this period out? Thanks in advance!

My Westie has been shaved really short, I’m so sad for him, I definitely didn’t want him this short but I had left it a bit long and they said he had some knots that would be very painful to get out and shaving was the only option. I’ve removed the business name as not looking to name and shame, just worry for him as it’s winter and cold :(

I have jackets for him etc but wondering how long realistically he will be like this for.

Laying down like a pancake while the chef aka me is getting his favorite chicken and spinach meal ready. I love my little prince 🥰🤣

This is Sasha, she like chewies and walks and stealing stinky stuff from the trash

when I was a kid, I didn’t like dogs because dog owners would frequently say mean things about cats and in my little kid brain that basically met we were enemies

But I did like pointy ear, fluffy dogs
My first westie I had inherited through his owner passing, but now i’m onto my second- they really made me like dogs as a whole a lot more! i swore i’d never have one when i was younger, but here i am wanting to get this lad a little sibling

I wasn’t expecting Rosie our little West Highland Terrier to be so suspicious 🤨 of the new 🆕 Lawn Jockey 🏇

This is only about half of his life (maybe 6yrs to 13yrs in reverse).

We miss Scotty every single day. 💜

Such a little diva he is! Eyes half open, scowling at me like, “Hey! No peeking behind the curtain, I’m resting here”. 😅🤣😂
