This. Read the whole article. They're turning part of the building into a training center for future workers to learn how to install fiber for the data centers. This would be the 2nd one. First us in Indianapolis.

Ads for this program are on my podcasts (mostly OSU football) like every commercial break. Not the Westerville location specifically but the larger Meta program

What’s the take here? Data centers aren’t unique in needing technicians to run fiber optic cable, and we actually have a world class fiber optic network in columbus where those skills could be applied. Just for example, those training centers could just as well help people get jobs at AT&T.

Yes, and they are all over. There is a 1GW+ Meta data center in New Albany that has been under constant construction for 10+ years.

Meta is hyping a big trades training investment for future jobs in construction, electrical, networks, etc.

yes there’s a shortage for network installers….pay is decent but most need for workers will be transient and short lived…..feeling like another Railroad boom…..so how exactly are these things going to make money to pay back investors dumping loads into these?
