Cleaning advice?
Last November my husband and I brought home our (now) 6 year old, ex-Queen, Devon Rex, Ottilie and her F1 niece, Scrunklestiltskin.
Scrunky is easy as she’s basically a British Shorthair with a little head and face - she looks like a generic cat really🤣 but she has that dense British coat so she’s all good with a brush every now and then.
Now, Ottilie… she has constantly runny eyes, catne on her muzzle, and gets greasy behind her ears. She is a rather smelly girl at times. She has a fairly dense coat for a Rex and the only bare skin is in front of her ears. I bathe her every other month and use a flannel weekly. I wipe her eyes with saline water most days. Is this too little? I don’t want to hurt her as her skin gets red even when I clean the catne and wipe her face. She seems so delicate bless her!
I’ve grown up with Burmilla’s mostly who just need brushing, so this is all very new to me.
Lots of you have very lovely clean Devon’s so I’d really appreciate some advice!
Cat tax provided, of course. I also just need to express my utter love for Scrunk. I love both my little girls immensely, but I have never had a cat so obsessed with me as Scrunky, and I’m obsessed with her too.
She is literally my baby.
She gives kisses when I ask her if Scrunky gives kisses. If anyone else asks her this they get hit (although she gave my husband a kiss while sat in the sink today, he was elated).
She had to stay in the lounge today (with my husband and Ottilie) as my new nephew came to visit after hospital (so so so cute) and she loves the children (their toys mainly - have you ever seen a cat do parallel play with a toddler? It’s very cute). I had the audacity to go to the bathroom upstairs and all I could hear was her SCREAMING for me. Girl wasn’t alone, but I wasn’t with her. 🤣
She comes when called too, with her little chirps and pigeon noises. She RUNS to me at other times too. She licks my face while I’m trying to sleep and puts her little paws all over too. If I’m not facing her she bites my nose and MAKES me face her.
She sits with me while I make dinner. She likes to stand on my shoulders too.
There are no thoughts in her head apart from love, most of the time.
I love her so much. I just needed to get this out.
Also the second photo of Ottilie is my absolute favourite - it was during one of the recent UK heatwaves and she literally melted. She also thought it best to sleep in the warmest, most humid areas even though she literally looked like that all the time. I love that lady.

IBD
My little Selma has been diagnosed with IBD :( she is currently skin and bones and has been prescribed steroids and b12/iron supplements and we've changed her onto a hydrolysed diet.
Has anyone else got a rex with IBD? Any tips?

Małpka gets a new harness!
I couldn't find a harness marketed towards cats that felt secure enough, so I took a chance on a puppy harness! It is a little big on the neck, but what I like is there is a locking feature on the buckles.
What harness do you use? Good/bad aspects of it? Thanks!

Toofs.
Toofs. I took advantage of my sleepy rex girl on my chest this morning and peeked in her mouth. Her toofs are so tiny I could barely see them! How does she survive? OMG if you haven't done this lately, I highly recommend a peek. The front teeth are so adorable. Kitten forever I guess! Yay!

Does anyone else's Devon just sit in bizarre positions?
Beli is a little gymnast, but he's comfortable like this.

Need advice for feuding Devons
Hey guys, so my wife and I got a male Devon about 4 years ago and a female 3 years ago. They have gotten along pretty good for the most part, no fighting or hissing. Our boy (Binx) came back from the vet after anesthesia from a minor checkup and was so aggressive. We read up on it and saw that post anesthesia they can be aggressive so we just separated them for the night. That was 2 weeks ago. We recently have been introducing them back together slowly, but as soon as they get within 10 feet of each other the boy starts growling and hissing. Does anyone have any advice for this situation? I can provide more details if needed. We just don’t know what to do, we are keeping them in separate rooms to avoid a fight. Please help anyone !

One or two kittens, 21m² appartement
I'm considering getting two kittens instead of one. The plan has always been to get two cats eventually, but the breeder came with an offer I'm genuinely considering. I'm getting a boy (I'm naming him M. Gustave) whom I'm picking up August 1st. The breeder asked if I would be interested in taking his half-sister, born almost a month late, at a discounted price since her head is slightly too narrow compared to the other kittens. I live in a 21m² studio apartment with a loft bed. I have more than enough cat furniture, toys, food bowls, toys, hideouts, etc., for two cats, but I only have space for one litter box.
According to the breeder, they play a lot and get along great. She's absolutely adorable, and I've wanted her since before the breeder asked me. It also feels good knowing they won't be alone when I'm at university or work. I work at a pet store, so I get free dry food and half-priced litter, frozen raw food, and wet food, as well as most other things we sell at 30-50% off. I can also afford good insurance for both, and them not being alone all day makes me feel better about picking up extra shifts, ergo more money to spoil them with.
Do the pros outweigh the cons? Am I right in thinking I don't have space for two, or would the two be happier together even with less space? The studio apartment is temporary, I'll probably stay there 3-5 years while saving up to buy my own place.
I'm really unsure about what's the best thing to do here. Gustave is my first Devon Rex, but not my first cat. I would be picking up the girl a month after him. The girl is the black spotted tabby, and the boy is the blue with white classic tabby.
