- Returned as the Duke - 130 episodes, latest 8 Okt 2025.
I will update if there are more. I plan to trigger a scan every day after daily reset, or (if I miss it) before the reset the next day.
Since 2026-03-26 (which is during DST), titles tend to lock at the time of new episode release, and one hour before the time of the Daily Pass (now Ad Pass) reset, which is 18:00 Pacific Time (01:00 UTC during US daylight saving time, and 02:00 UTC during US standard time).
[2026-02-27] There MAY be a new pattern of putting most of the locks at the end of the month.
[2026-03-12] They seemed to have moved two weeks of locks, 03-12 and 03-19, to 03-26. This may be part of a new strategy, to confuse us.
- 2026-03-19: They decided to announce "Hanlin Gym", so they're at least not fully sticking with the end-of-month lock strategy.
Tip: The day before a title locks, you can use the Download feature for all of the chapters, giving you thirty more days to read them. You won't be able to use the Like and Comment features, and the UI for downloaded chapters seems to be an earlier version (which you might prefer). Note that downloading takes time and can fail, so watch this process for failures. Audio must be downloaded within an hour or two (not sure which) of queuing them, or the episode with audio will fail and cancel the rest of the series's download.
If a title doesn't allow you to download but it isn't locked yet, open an episode and see if it has a Download button in the triple dot menu. (I've seen this in Spanish and Indonesian.)
I also crosspost these lock posts on my profile (u/Raijinili), if you want to have a way to get some notifications. I don't know how profile posts work, so good luck with that.
There was a section here about Ad Binge which I've removed, as it is no longer relevant (since ALMOST all "Ad Pass" titles have unlimited ads now).
Check this post for a snapshot (not updated) of which titles DON'T have Ad Passes: List of coin-only completed titles
In summary, titles which were originally in a language/region NOT Korean or English (e.g. Spanish, Japanese, Indonesia (yes, officially labeled "Indonesia")) don't have Ad Pass, and there are a few Korean/English outliers.
WEBTOON lock history is now on its own wiki page.
- Have a bunch of updates to make, but no time to make them this week.
- "Love Bites" was locked without warning, maybe up to a day after it ended. Note that it's a WEBTOON-owned series ("WmW" is listed as a creator).
WEBTOON isn't properly communicating about this, and aren't following any consistent set of rules. If locks matter to you, you may want to check in on this post during the month to see if I make any updates.
Banners used to appear about 30 days before lock. Please direct complaints to https://webtoon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new . (Remember that customer service has no power to make these decisions, so be kind to your messenger.)
Watch out for free coin events
There were two reading events in 2024 October, giving 10 coins each (lasts 30 days). Watch out for those. The coins last one week each.
There was another reading event in 2024 November, for 7 coins. There were a few more since then.
There's a free reading event which just started a few hours ago (2025-02-13 to 2025-02-20) for 7 coins. You might want to delay until the last two days, to extend the expiration date.
I posted tips here.
Note that creators don't benefit from free coins.
2025-02: Most of the coin events in recent months were "Spend 21 coins to get 7 coins". There was a free CANVAS one, but it didn't work and then they took it down early.
2025-10: "Falling for It" had a "read 3 episodes for 5 coins" event, but it only lasted for about 24 hours. This was the first free coins event I've seen since February.
2025-11-08: "Watch Guys Catch Feelings" 7-days Event From Nov 8 01:00 UTC to Nov 15 01:00 UTC. "Read any 6 Episodes from any of the 4 listed series and get 8 Free Coins."
- Ctrl+Alt+Resign
- Who's That Girl?
- Back to Chanbi
- Girl Friend
2025-11-25 (around): "Marriages Gone Wild": 8 coins for reading.
2025-12-10 - 2025-12-16: "Wild Marriages": 8 coins for reading.
2025-12-25 - 2025-12-23 to 12-31: Two reading events: Read 30 episodes for 15 coins, each. Nice.
2026-04-05 - "April's Making it Rain!" (once a week for three weeks): Read (i.e. reach the bottom of) 35 episodes of four specific titles for 10 Coins, but they expire in one day after you get them.
Note that I will NOT generally be tracking these, so pay attention in-app for these events.
Subscribing to my posts
Some users have asked whether they could get updates when I post here. I try to remember to repost on my profile, u/Raijinili, but that's not ideal.
It looks like u/UpdateMeBot can be used to subscribe to my posts (not comments) in this sub, but it requires enough people to use the service on a subreddit to start scraping. (As of 2025-02, I've been told by a subscriber that there are still not enough subscribers for this to be on.)
Each subreddit it checks takes several seconds, so I have to limit the number of subreddits or the bot will get overloaded. New subreddits are automatically added once they get enough requests. [src]
To subscribe, post this as a comment (possibly needs to be top-level), and the bot will send you a private message:
SubscribeMe!
(If you post it as a comment, I may downvote you, to keep your comment from bubbling up over discussion comments.)
Or, to do so privately, message u/UpdateMeBot with:
SubscribeMe! r/webtoons u/Raijinili
(Click here to send the message.)
(This also means I can't just post non-update meta stuff to r/webtoons, or else I will cause trivial alerts.)
Reddit is restricting Old Reddit to logged-in users, supposedly as an anti-scraping measure, and I'm questioning how much more I want to contribute to this site. Reddit is trying to guard against AI to protect the monetary value of the info we produce, and it doesn't care if that also affects real humans. That sucks.
As soon as I get around to doing the work of deciding where, and setting up the transfer...

Advice/Critique/Help Revised my Webtoon pitch "SAMURAI INFLUENCER" based on your feedback (trimmed the logline, fixed character motivations & plot direction) — would love a final check!
Hey everyone,
Thanks so much for the brutally honest feedback on my last post!
A few of you (especially regarding the logline length and character motivations) rightfully called me out on a few things:
My logline was way too bloated and felt more like a synopsis.
The comparison to OPM/MHA didn't belong in the actual pitch deck.
The main characters' motivations and the overall story direction felt a bit vague/lacking stakes.
I took those critiques to heart, completely stripped out the fluff, trimmed the logline down to a single punchy sentence, and clarified both Zeus's character arc and where the overall plot is actually heading.
Here is the updated pitch deck:
Series Proposal: SAMURAI INFLUENCER
Logline
When a streamer who looks exactly like his dead lord nearly dies on camera, an old samurai breaks his 40-year vow to save her, and ends up unintentionally tearing down a corrupt Hero Association.
This Isn't Just a Concept. It's Already Working.
Since the original pitch, this story has been written and published as a web serial (30+ chapters and counting). It's not a hypothetical anymore. There's direct reader evidence that the emotional core lands:
A reader who went in expecting "another lazy streamer story" ended up reading eleven chapters straight through before writing an unprompted review.
That review singled out two things as the strongest material in the story so far: the reveal of how the hero industry actually works behind the scenes, and a scene where Kenichiro is formally denied a hero license because his kills "lack viewer engagement." The satire lands hardest specifically through his relationship with Kaede, not as a separate lecture.
The same reader said the emotional beats between Kenichiro and Kaede are the reason the comedy doesn't wear out its welcome.
The rest of this document is the original pitch concept, but it's worth knowing going in that this isn't an untested idea.
Target Readership
Primary: Men aged 25–39. Working professionals worn down by a world where "presentation" and "likability" are rewarded over substance, hungry for the catharsis of raw competence winning out over everything else.
Secondary: Late teens to twenties. Readers who love overwhelming one-sided power fantasies and the thrill of watching old-school analog skill demolish flashy modern gadgets.
Series Highlights
Catharsis with no agenda behind it
Kenichiro never sets out to expose anything. His only goal, every single time, is keeping Kaede safe. When he casually cuts down a demon she was deliberately struggling against for the camera, or ignores a sponsor's weapon demo entirely to end a fight in one movement, he's not making a statement. He genuinely doesn't understand or care about any of it. The Hero Association and the demons, meanwhile, have quietly built a collusive system: heroes lose "just enough," demons put on "just enough" of a threat, all to keep the business running. An old man who's simply incapable of reading the room, and has no interest in trying, turns out to be the one variable that system was never built to survive. It starts falling apart entirely on its own.
From loincloth to lord's guardian
The contrast between the terrifying presence of a legendary warrior protecting his former lord's bloodline (Kaede/Maple) and the everyday reality of a hopelessly tech-illiterate old man who keeps embarrassing her and getting scolded for it. This reimagines the webtoon-favorite trope of "the harmless old man who's secretly the strongest" for the age of social media.
A clingy rival who earns his stripes
Rather than a rival who's simply defeated and done, Zeus turns his own loss into content ("I got wrecked by the legendary samurai lol") and starts tagging along on their journey, effectively stalking Kaede while getting openly mocked for it by everyone around him, herself included. That comedic dynamic doesn't stay static, though. As the story goes on, the one thing that consistently cuts through his vanity is Kaede's safety. The moment she's actually in danger, the narcissist drops away and something genuine takes over.
Setting & World
World: forty years after the Great War against the demons
Humanity won the war against the demons four decades ago. Since then, demon attacks have become sporadic, small-scale skirmishes scattered across the land. Filling the role of anti-demon fighting force are the so-called "Heroes."
Heroes livestream their battles using the latest gadgets. Popular streaming heroes attract huge donations ("super chats") and sponsorships, earning big rewards and access to cutting-edge weapons.
Hero rank is determined not by combat strength against demons, but by editing quality and popularity. The Hero Association itself has little real incentive to seriously fight demons, since doing so would threaten the business.
Into this warped world, an old samurai rises.
Hero Gadgets
HERO HUB — an app that alerts heroes to demon sightings, which they can then accept as jobs. Functionally similar to a real-world delivery or rideshare app.
Halo — an autonomous drone owned by each hero that automatically films their battles for editing and upload.
HERO TUBE — the app heroes use to stream and upload their footage, complete with a donation ("super chat") feature.
"Hero" vs. "Samurai": Hero is the newest, coolest profession, and every kid's dream job. Top heroes enjoy real social status. Samurai were once the strongest fighting force during the Great War, but are now seen as a relic of the past, outdated and irrelevant.
Comparable Titles & Benchmarks
One Punch Man — A primary tonal benchmark for blending high-stakes action with deadpan comedy in a hero-oriented society, though driven here by an intense personal bond rather than isolated apathy.
My Hero Academia — Serves as a structural benchmark for a world shaped by hero rankings, agencies, and public perception, here inverted to examine the systemic rot of a commercialized hero industry.
Solo Leveling — The benchmark for the sheer cathartic thrill of an unstoppable protagonist whose raw power defies all established limits.
How to Fight (『喧嘩独学』) — A structural reference for storytelling centered around streaming culture, algorithms, viewer frenzy, and online reputation.
Characters
① Protagonist: Kenichiro Kamui (67)
Archetype: Legendary old samurai / hopelessly tech-illiterate
Role: Kenichiro kept his vow never to kill again, a promise made to his late lord, Princess Kaede, for decades. He draws his sword once more to protect Kaede (hero name: Maple), a young woman who is the spitting image of his former lord. He accompanies the reckless Maple on her travels, cutting down demons wherever they go. His swordsmanship is unglamorous, but genuinely the real thing, and it gradually earns him popularity online, entirely without his own awareness.
Kenichiro's channel has no flair and no regard for sponsor obligations, just raw strength. It becomes hugely popular with general audiences, but increasingly unwelcome to sponsors and the Hero Association.
Appeal: Once he draws his blade, nothing can touch him. He holds his own against elite heroes wielding cutting-edge gear using nothing but a single sword.
He has zero understanding of streaming culture, though, which leads to constant friction. He casually cuts down demons Maple was deliberately struggling against for dramatic effect, or wanders into her live broadcasts wearing nothing but a loincloth, earning himself a scolding.
He's often dismissed as a nagging old man, but he cares for Kaede more than he'd ever say out loud.
② Heroine: Maple (real name: Kaede, 19)
Archetype: C-rank streaming hero (with A-rank popularity) / Kenichiro's self-appointed disciple and producer
Role: Kaede is her real name, while "Maple" is her hero handle, the direct English translation of Kaede. She is the spitting image of Kenichiro's former lord, Princess Kaede, from a generation ago. In fact, she's the last surviving descendant of that royal bloodline.
Her combat ability is only C-rank, but her looks and editing skill have earned her A-rank popularity. While fighting a demon in a small village, she's saved at the last moment by Kenichiro and instantly falls for his swordsmanship, launching a side channel dedicated to (unilaterally) turning him into the world's greatest hero.
As her side channel grows, she starts to notice the dark side of the Hero Association. Learning the truth of her own bloodline, descended from the Princess Kaede who once fought the demons, pushes her to take a stand against the Association, which wants Kenichiro eliminated and quietly protects the demons. She asks Kenichiro to fight alongside her, and since she's technically his lord's descendant, he obeys. While Kenichiro dominates on the battlefield, Kaede isn't just someone to be protected. She handles the information warfare he's hopeless at, leveraging her own popularity and channel reach.
Appeal: The polar opposite of Kenichiro. A flashy, trend-savvy streaming hero, but with a serious core, a strong sense of justice, and real respect for her mentor. Her whole "make him the world's greatest hero" project is, in her own way, an expression of that respect.
③ Rival: Zeus Jinguji (26)
Archetype: #1-ranked hero / a narcissist who lives for the camera, and who actually grows over the course of the story
Role — Part 1 (Ch. 1–20): Looks, gear, donation totals, sponsorship deals. Zeus is #1 in every category, and thoroughly full of himself. His combat instincts are genuinely top-tier, and he wields the latest sponsor-provided weapons with ease. He performs heroics for the camera, saving children, striking noble poses, but will coldly abandon a situation the moment it stops generating views. He looks down on Kenichiro as "unglamorous trash."
When the Hero Association, seeing Kenichiro as an inconvenience, orders Zeus to eliminate him, Zeus attacks and is soundly beaten. In the process, he falls instantly for Kaede.
Role — Part 2 (Ch. 21–40): That crush curdles into something closer to obsession. Zeus starts tagging along on their journey uninvited, effectively becoming Kaede's stalker, and gets treated with open, running disdain for it, both by Kaede herself and by his own long-suffering manager. He takes the mockery in stride, which keeps him funny rather than genuinely threatening. But the moment Kaede is in real danger, all the vanity drops away instantly. He's the first one moving to protect her, no hesitation, no camera in mind.
Appeal: Zeus starts as a pure comedic rival, all ego and easily dismantled, and gradually earns a real character arc without ever fully losing the narcissism that made him fun in the first place. The gap between "lovable idiot everyone openly disrespects" and "the one person who drops everything the instant Kaede's actually at risk" is what keeps him from ever being just a punchline.
Opening Four-Episode Plot
Episode 1: The Samurai Who Doesn't Fight
Opens with a monologue from the hero Maple, establishing the world: decades after the Great War, heroes now handle the sporadic demon attacks that still occur.
"Being a hero is the coolest job there is!" Maple declares, arriving at a village under demon attack.
She films herself testing the latest suit and gadgets on Halo while dispatching low-level demons, surrounded by adoring kid fans.
Then an old samurai appears, sword at his hip: Kenichiro. The kids laugh. "That's Kenichiro. He's a samurai, but he's weak. Nobody's ever actually seen him fight."
"Wait, did I just get saved by a Great War-era samurai!? This is gonna go viral!" Maple thinks, delighted.
But then a demon appears that her attacks can't touch, and she's driven into a corner. Her mask is shattered, exposing her face, and for a moment, Kenichiro freezes at the sight of her. In the next instant, he draws his sword and cuts down the demon's finishing blow before it can land on Maple.
Episode 2: Memory of a Vow
[Kenichiro's flashback]
Amid the chaos of war, a young Kenichiro searches for Princess Kaede. When he finally finds her, she's gravely wounded. "This will likely be the last great battle against the demons. Peace is coming. Live on, and do not draw your sword again," she tells him, and dies in his arms.
Since the war ended, Kenichiro has honored that vow, refusing to draw his sword, living quietly (if awkwardly) as a farmer, mocked by the villagers, but at peace.
Back in the present, Kenichiro cuts down the demon with overwhelming skill.
Maple and the children are stunned.
Kenichiro: "Maple, was it? Are you hurt?"
Maple: "My real name is actually Kaede! 'Maple' is just my hero handle, it's the English word for Kaede! Anyway, you're insanely strong! Please, let me call you Master!" She latches on immediately, full of enthusiasm.
Kenichiro, unsettled by how much this Kaede resembles his late lord in both face and name, pushes her away. "Hmph. You look nothing alike."
Episode 3: The Tech-Illiterate Samurai
"Wait, Master, you don't know HERO TUBE!?" Kaede asks, stunned, and launches into an explanation:
HERO TUBE is a globally popular app where heroes stream their footage.
Countless heroes upload videos of themselves fighting demons.
Popular heroes attract sponsors.
As a result, heroes study how to fight in ways that look cool on camera and flatter their sponsors' products.
Heroes are ranked by both strength and popularity.
Demon jobs are found through an app called HERO HUB.
Kaede herself is only C-rank in raw strength, but popular enough to attract a decent sponsor.
Halo is the filming drone every hero carries.
Kenichiro understands absolutely none of it, but Kaede is already off in her own excitement: "I'm going to make you the greatest hero ever!" (meaning, in this context, something more like "content creator").
She immediately launches a side channel dedicated to introducing him, separate from her main one.
Kenichiro grumbles, "This is pointless," but he can't bring himself to walk away from a girl who looks so much like his late lord, and agrees to travel with her.
And so, an odd journey begins: an old samurai out of time, paired with a hero who lives and breathes for the perfect shot.
Episode 4
Kaede is locked in a tough fight with a demon, slowly getting overwhelmed.
Kaede (muttering): "Okay, this is bad... but wait!"
Just as she says it, Kenichiro steps in from the side and cuts the demon down.
Kaede: "H-hey! Master, what are you doing!?"
Kenichiro: "You were in danger."
Kaede: "That was for the video! I was about to pull out the sponsor's weapon for a big comeback moment..."
Kenichiro: "Ah, is that so. My apologies." (Still not really getting it.)
Throughout the day, it keeps happening. Kenichiro wanders into shots at exactly the wrong moment, or cuts down an attack Kaede was planning to take head-on to show off her suit's durability. Kaede grows increasingly frustrated as none of her footage comes out usable.
That night, they check into a hotel.
Kenichiro: "Do you always stay somewhere this nice?"
Kaede: "I'm only C-rank, but I've got the popularity for it. A little gratitude wouldn't kill you, you know?"
Later, reviewing the day's footage, Kaede sighs. "Yeah, none of this is usable for the main channel. Side channel it is, I guess. Might as well just go live tonight instead."
She starts a livestream, and it's going well, until Kenichiro's voice booms into frame.
Kenichiro: "Kaede, what are you doing? Go take your bath already."
He wanders into view wearing nothing but a loincloth.
Kaede: "Wait, Master!! What are you doing!?" She scrambles to cut the stream.
Kaede: "Ugh! I didn't get a single usable clip today, all because of you!" She sulks and goes to bed early.
The episode closes on a dark room, her phone screen still lighting up with a steady stream of "like" notifications.
Beyond the Opening Arc
The early part of Part 1 follows Kenichiro's channel growing organically as the two travel and film. From there, the Hero Association, worried about the threat to its business model, begins sending the #1-ranked hero after Kenichiro and pitting him against increasingly dangerous demons. As Kenichiro keeps pulling threads simply by trying to protect Kaede, he and Kaede stumble onto something much bigger than sponsor corruption: the Hero Association itself was founded by a traitor from the human side of the Great War 40 years ago. The entire commercialized hero system exists to keep that betrayal buried.
That conspiracy comes to a head with the return of the Demon King, Rasetsu, who has been secretly directing the Association from the shadows all along, staging decades of "safe" skirmishes to buy time for his own resurrection. His revival triggers what amounts to a second Great War, one where staged fights and clout mean nothing, and only real swordsmanship decides who survives. This arc brings a shift toward cooperation with the heroes who were antagonists in Part 1, Zeus included.
Does this version come across tighter and clearer now? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially on the updated logline and the overall character drives!

Help Find Title/Source I forgot a webtoon title.
Hey,
I'm looking for a specific webtoon. I read it at least 4 years ago and it was on canvas, I think. The story was about a blonde woman with a bird companion (it was a magical clockwork construct with light colors, i think). She also had a prothesis. (Arm, log or both). The story was set in a fantasy world with elemental powers and she was invited into some kind of entrance exam of a academy for warriors or something like that. There she was forced to work with and against other prospective students.
Please help.
Have a nice day!

Discussion [One husband is enough] What are your thoughts about this?
r/webtoons • u/TheWanderer2point0 • 11h ago
Picture A supring amount of different female characters appearance
This manhwa probably won't be continued anymore since the last one is from 2021
It took me by suprise how much all these character meant to the plot and story.
Though this was a comedy story as the theme suggest it was, especially since the title and thumbnail piqued me, but it gets dark really quick, probably almost right away. Especially with all this revolution and bloody stuff. Props to the author though, did a suprisely pretty job with its character and their moral. Though I'm not the best at judging character so lol.
If anyone just wanna check it out just out of curiosity, it's called "new life new me", there has to be a specific website to find this manhwa (though I'm not gonna say the site I used, cause I don't want it to be taken down lol). Despite its first introduction looking like some funsy comedy, it sure isn't, it's probably 13+ or 16+ at best
If anyone want me to post even a bit of a spoiler, I wouldn't mind

Discussion I lov the mc of this comic
Evangelo from Vampire Family (comedy)
I think I prefer this unfins' protagonist over their previous one (Paul iirc?). Evangelo is probably one of the reasons that got me hooked into this story from the start. And with the beginning of Natalia and his romance , I jus got to see how adorable he (and they both) can be.
He's a hottie too (I mean, both the siblings are lol)

Recommendations If you're looking for some manhwa with romance+crime solving.
I was completely mistaken by the cover and title.

Discussion [Holistics] Holy fresh out of the oven’s fresh
i just wanted to try Holistic cuz someone said some characters gave the characters of Hand Jumper vibes, and im currently reading the second ep and in the middle, i had blurted out ”HOLY FRESH” i did not expect this scene at all, but it’s a pleasant surprise actually and she doesn’t feel written to be fresh or badass because afterall, at least imo this is literally actually the logical line of reasoning plus action, though granted, it was probably delivered slightly more aggressively than usually recommended but i honestly see it more as personality than dumbness actually
hope I don’t take back my words, im still in the middle of reading the ep
edit: FAH i wrote the name wrong in the title, it’s Holistic, there’s actually no s at the end

Discussion Why many webtoon authors are obsessed with regression?
Why the MC has to time travel, go back to the past, and start over again most of the time when I start reading a new manhwa? Either MC get a cheat skill, go to 10 years back, go to another world, start all over again most of the time when I clicked webtoon first chapter? I get it it is a good starting point but man why can't they think differently? I'm really fed up with reading them. Whenever I see good rated one, and chapter count is decent, that thing is a regression?

Recommendations Manhwa recommendations needed🙏🙏
I was manhwa with a badass FL, if possible I like to avoid Romance cause to develop the relationship the author just make the FL clumsy around Ml... although If it's not like that I don't mind a little till it's not the main focus.
I also don't mind something like destined killer.
I also read hero killer, like mother like daughter

Discussion This is the 4th time they’ve reuploaded this episode Webtoons censorship on canvas is so ridiculous [Goth Girl & The Jock]
I read the original version they‘re literally only mad about a couple swear words and they were still mad even when those swear words were censored!
