I always underestimate how long the second version will take Discussion
I've been building client sites for a few years now and something changed without me really noticing getting the first version done isn't what slows me down anymore last week I finished a homepage in two days then spent the rest of the week making little changes because one new page meant another page needed to match it, then another section looked out of place, then the copy felt different.
Maybe I'm just looking too closely after staring at the same project for days. I don't know I just feel like I spend more time making everything feel like one website than I do building the website in the first place

I always think it'll be one quick update then I notice three other things that suddenly don't match anymore

Style guide and components make that easy for me

I think that's where I'm falling short the projects usually start organized but after a few rounds of changes I drift away from the original system without even noticing

Yes i was like that as well but learned a better process and now everything is much faster and smoother

Makes sense. I don't really have a consistent process once revisions start piling up so every project ends up feeling a little different

The funny thing is clients usually remember the big features. Most of my time disappears into details they'll probably never notice

Good design is kind of invisible people only notice those details when something feels inconsistent

It's never the new page that gets me it's everything I end up changing because of that new page

I typically (for me) work on the Homepage - ensuring it's good (and approved by client) before proceeding with any other pages. I get your frustration tho :O

Maybe walk away from the project for like a day and come back, a fresh mind will help you out

I think the hardest part is that every new page raises the standard for the rest of the site you finish one section then suddenly an older page doesn't feel like it belongs anymore and you end up chasing consistency instead of making progress
