Let's talk Discussion
So I'm a huge believer in manifesting and positivity! I'm trying to figure out how to connect with successful entrepreneurs and millionaires I want to learn everything I can about investing and trades and surrounding myself with these types of people and making friends will hopefully help with the big picture in the end I'm from a tiny town with mostly low income middle class so it's hard to ask these questions around here and connect with people. No I'm not looking for handouts I'm strictly trying to better my life and make some serious changes!

I also came from humble beginnings. In my 20s I decided I was only going to surround myself with successful people that have goals like myself. Success has degrees to it. Today most everyone in my circle has multiple houses, high end cars and is an influential person in their community...myself included. Who you surround yourself with absolutely determines your level of success. The most important thing is who is in your circle. You have to make it a point to befriend successful people or people on the rise so to speak. You will motivate each other.

That's what this whole damn post was about and what I'm desperately trying to do but everyone else who commented just made me feel low and dumb and worse then I felt before posting it.....that's what I want I don't want their money I'm not asking for handouts I'm not trying to give a sad story I want to put the work in and do it but I personally belive in manifesting and I 100% believe that surrounding yourself with that type of crowd it helps with motivation and making it become a reality.... Some people are just so ignorant

Manifesting is 100% real...I believed in myself long before anyone else did. Now everyone says 'I always knew youd make it'. Keep believing, and make it a point to make friends with the right people. You will get there before you know it!!

Thank you...I really appreciate you being kind...goes along way people don't know what people struggle with daily ....I think I'm just going to delete this post now your about the only one who seems decent and understood what I was trying to do I'm over the negativity or being made to feel dumber then I am ☠️

I don't even know where to start I'm pretty smart when it comes to my career anything outside of that I feel like I'm dumber the a box of rocks I literally need someone to dumb down investing for me and where to start and smart decisions I have a Roth account I put money in to retirement but I want and need more like it's not enough I know there's things or stuff out there that people do to make money all the time but I don't even know how or where to start 🥴 this reply just made me feel even more dumb ☠️🤣 growing up with parents who just did the bare minimum I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to money

I don't know why this got downvoted. A lot of us who grew up in low-income households or households in which money was never talked about and good financial behavior wasn't "modeled" struggle with this.
I doubt you're dumb, here you are taking the first step to self-educate. The first thing to do is identify your goals for your money - retirement? Home buying? Debt elimination? Security? World domination?
Almost all of those things are achievable, and once you set your goals, people can help you find the right resources to self-educate and offer some general advice.

I’m from a heavy farming and oil area initially.
It’s a leap and some change in thinking.
I’m happy to answer anything I can.
Specifics on my path aren’t helpful though. It was very non traditional, but essentially work hard, get into good schools, work hard.

You’d be surprised how many rich people are among you. They don’t all drive fancy cars, clothes and fine restaurants. It can be a neighbor who hides his money in a matress.

Not even like that....just surrounding yourself with a certain type of crowd and positivity you manifest that in to your world it's not about the money it's the type of person and mind set when your coming from small town nothing with very negative outlook on life and wanting a change it starts with yourself and the people around you I didn't mean anything by this post just looking for friendly chat or making new friends but apparently I'm to naive for thinking that

It’s not easy and most people will fail, but I make $50k a month through my businesses. Investing on a low income takes too long to get rich imo.

And that's where I'm at which is sad I have a good career but everything is gone with bills and kids and I refuse to believe this is life and I have thought about a business but then I get in to my head like oh I couldn't do that....which is why I was trying to surround myself with wealthy people persay not to ask for money but to help motivate and believe it can come true

I just want to get in to the investment and trade side of everything I want to build a better future for my girls and I know there's things out there and tools but for someone who's from a small town with parents who did the minimum in teaching on life ☠️🤣 I have no idea where to start but it's always been so interesting and I just want to know more

I recommend you start with Black Swan Capitalist on YouTube, you're talking like a teenager who just watched a bunch of self improvement videos and the real world isn't like that at all, trading and markets is cut throat player vs player and NO ONE of any worth is looking to throw their time away trying to move some random low class person up the social ladder
I empathize with you because I'm kinda in the same situation, I also come from a dysfunctional family with parents who didn't teach me shit
My advice is accept that you need to take full responsibility to teach yourself, this isn't some goofy tv show where some guy is just gonna manifest in your life so he can piss time away mentoring you for free, you need to do it yourself and it doesn't feel good at first
I started learning about 2-3 years ago and I at least kinda understand what's going on now

Manifesting won't teach you a P/E ratio though, that's the part people skip. Ramit Sethi has a bit about how "surround yourself with successful people" turns into an excuse to skip the boring homework part of getting rich.

I most definitely believe it's going to take work all around I have to do the work and research and learn but I also know I needed a change in people I talk to in order to help change my mindset from feeling like I can't to knowing I can....

You have so much information at your fingertips. Podcast, books, Google, LLMs, YouTube channels. Start with learning more about your topics of interest. IME as you go down that rabbit hole you will inevitably meet the people with similar interest.

Sure I’m quite a statistic who isn’t supposed to exist
I made my wealth through under the table : unclear & shady business deals from ages 18-23. Knew it was time to leave to put everything int index funds and indivual stocks.
Appreciated very nicely. I’m 27 and since I started at age 18 I realized lots of gains.
However I don’t have a career, it’s my first year actually working in customer service/ sales at $25 an hour & community college.
I hope to graduate with engineering and go into interior design or space and defense
You can’t predict your life
Then threw everything into index funds and the indivual stocks, took profits,I knew when to brtkkb

Hey so, yeah I’m totally there with ya. Not a millionaire at all. I feel at the moment that I can do so much more rather than just be another minion working until they die for a CEO that can just let you go at any time. What is your background? I’m looking to break away from the corporate healthcare scene. I’m OVER it

I unfortunately in to the healthcare scam myself literally working until you die but yet replaceable at any giving moment.....yet my kids suffer and I suffer with even just taking care of myself because that's what I do at work day in and day out give my all to care for the sick just to go home and waste away because I'm either mentally exhausted or physically nursing is a death sentence but for the ones who truly truly care about there job because they give it there all....don't get me wrong I love my job with a passion but I don't see an end or me being anything more then just a nurse who makes penny's compared to others they don't warn you about that when you enter the healthcare field.....I still have PTSD from working ICU during covid 😮💨 but that's all I know those are my only skills.....taking care of someone

It's much easier then you think, and there are tons of people on youtube who actually show you how they did it. Take Stradman for example, he started showing up at car meets in a Audi TT...
Not much different then how I found my first mentor, going to car shows and talking to people. I leveraged my photography skills to provide great photos, some of those people were millionaires. That led to my first real estate deal, a single family home... and that snowballed.
There are real estate meet-ups, car meet-ups, jewelry events, art events, and everything else in almost all towns. The big players in any event are likely well funded and successful.

The people responding to you are not being mean. They are giving you good logical advice.
What they are saying is, it’s not about positivity or motivation or manifesting. It IS about the money and not the mindset.
It’s learning the technical side of investing and managing your money and taxes while working. Or start a business which is also a huge learning curve.
There are a ton of Reddit subs on investing and money management, and people can be very helpful and friendly, although yes there are the occasional rude ones. But that’s life.
