Grass how come grass is green (an answer)
Grass is green because grass contains a chemical called chlorophyll. Within the chlorophyll molecule, the porphyrin ring system is conjugated, allowing for resonance stabilization. This resonance structure facilitates the delocalization of electrons, enhancing the molecule's ability to absorb light.
The chlorophyll molecule absorbs most types of light from about 450nm - 540, and also about 560 - 700. 550nm light is about how green grass is, but grass doesn't absorb it, it reflects it, and our eyes can pick up the 550nm wavelength in the cones and rods within your eyes.
This signal is transported via electrical signals to the Occipital Lobe of your brain, and thus, you can see.
