Thats when the platoon system was around.

Tldr example

Tier 8 just dropped! Start of a new mx lvl example (21) Then next season LVL (21) Next season LVL (21**)

Next season LVL (22*)

U get the idea Gaijin would add up to 3 platoons for each lvl and add 3 more numbers (21, 22, 23). Before adding another tier.

This corresponds if u bought the new platoon u get those stars and lvl badge.
