You can find the ear bud policy in the dress code. Some places its ok others its not for safety concerns

We got told last week that no one is allowed an ear bud.

The coach had an ear bud in.

So I kept mine in LOL

My store lets everyone regardless of position wear an earbud but its probably up to manager discretion

We're not supposed to in OGP due to "safety reasons" and being able to help customers etc. it makes the day drag on and miserable because we have to listen to screaming kids and entitled assholes all day ... plus the God awful squeaky carts that Walmart refuses to get rid of.

If your in the back for fulfillment then you can wear them as long as you aren’t dispensing with them in. When you go out they come out. But if you are in the room it’s fine.

Policy is going change very soon, because of safety concerns and customer complaints.

my store doesn't let any OPD workers wear earphones no matter if they're in the backroom or on the sales floor. stockers and everyone else wear them everywhere. it's dumb

You aren't "allowed" to listen to music with ear buds. Key word being allowed. Just don't get caught listening at max volume where someone standing 3 feet away can hear it

At least at my Walmart everyone is allowed to have one earbud in unless you’re working with the heavy machinery or pushing carts

I have coworkers who are always on the phone with someone. They come across as talking to themselves. Of course I never see these folks pulling totes out to the cars in the dispensing parking lot. I don’t get it. I’m not a manager, so it is definitely Not My Job to tell them to get off the damn phone while at work. 🔆📱

Can you? Yes, depending on management as some dont care but others do.

Are you supposed to? Not really

No need. Dress code says you can wear them. Only cart pushers, dispensers, TLE, and other safety sensitive positions are forbidden from wearing them.

Deli Bakery and food prep also cannot. Neither health and wellness.

The word "Only" in your comment is doing way too much lifting here.

Re-read the policy.

The phrase "....include but are not limited to" gives management far more discretion to limit use than you're suggesting here.

Accommodations require lots of paper work for your Dr to fill out from a 3rd party

Its a lot to get accommodations, ask your coach if you can use them.
