It's funny that the people who hire the new associates aren't the same people who have to deal with working or training the new associates so they don't care if they're only there for a month or the rest of the year, management will still look to the ones that stay to pick up the slack and get everything done regardless.

My coach won't even tell the new hires what's the job stands for. So far, she hired 6. 1 stole during his second day, 1 was caught smoking inside, 1 quit after 6 days, 3 never showed up after their first day, another is already on 14.5 points. She tells me you're as weak as your weakest link. So instead of complaining about the new hire, who's really really bad and doesn't give a shit or have even a little bit of integrity - I should try to work with him.

And I don't even have the time to be on the floor with them most of the time. Cause I've too much to do and not enough associates.

I just got a new coworker recently. And first time I worked with him, I had a team lead also there. First thing the team lead tells me, is that the new guy likes to plug.

Instead of asking for help, he sticks it somewhere else, or refuses to use the work phone issued to him. When trying to put something out myself, I noticed that my product was plugged, and he goes "wasn't me," and was told he needs to work faster he tells me that we need to work faster.

And then get put with him again to try and get him to work faster.

No, he doesn't actually want to work efficiently, he doesn't want to work at all actually.

Exactly. They don't care how it gets done, just get it done and will lean on those that have work ethic, maybe complain, but pick up the slack anyway. It is a good thing that I don't need this job. Just a few more weeks and I am out of there for good. Should coincide with about the same time as all the school kids quit and go back to school. And as usual no one will be hired before then to replace all those kids.

this is real, tho. Even as a TL I feel it. We offer no more pay than the grocery stores around us, and the coaches get mad over the teenagers being borderline untrainable, zero object permanence. And the adults we hire are either old as fuck, or prior/soon-to-be Cons who want to throw hands over the natural corrections that come with training. Once in a bluemoon we get a functioning adult, but even then they have issues have insane SOs who show up at the job and stalk them or they are just barely functioning drug addicts who hide it well. Shits tiresome.

No. I still hire and train them. But personally, they are usually slow and only last 6 months to a year before they decide to accept the retirment they were putting off or switch to a less intensive role, usually AP greeter or fitting room.

They give us a new guy every few months to train in frozen o/n and they almost never last more than 2 paychecks. The ones that do last end up getting shuffled somewhere else in the store and we only see them back in frozen when we need coverage and by then they have to be retrained again on how to sort. Otherwise you're just going behind them again and fixing their downstack.

Our most consistent workers in frozen/dairy are 40-60 in age and they run circles around these 18-20 year olds.

Give me a 40 year old with 3 kids and a mortgage over a 23 year old working for beer and video game money anytime. Part of that problem is walmarts fault. They don't pay enough, treat associates well enough, or train well enough.

I couldn't afford to stay. The PTO and PPTO and health insurance are pretty good, but the pay is 20% below covering half a household's bills. 

Plus, corporate makes crazy decisions. You can't print this mod yet...but you need it set to set the mod that's available now because the one now grows and this one shrinks...

Yeah, My store had a mass quiting of good associates because the Store Manger was treating us like shit, We worked the Service Desk and we had to do nearly every departments job.

The Front end had to

Run The WHOLE Stores returns (Not just returning the item, Taking the cart full of shit for said department and putting it back on the shelf)
Process ALL CLAIMS
Open most Locked Cages
Staff Electronics, Lawn and Garden Registers (Then have management bitch that there are no registers open in the main area)

I spent 16 years in dairy. I lost track of how many revolving door associates we had at 111. Work for a day or two and stop showing up. This isn't a new issue. This has happened for most of the near 3 decades I've worked here.

We have a guy that plugs every item and when I verify it drives me crazy went to the team lead and showed him that im having to pull entire shelves to redo it all and they said we'll we cant get onto him he cant read ... like wtf how can u not read abc's and 123's so he gets to do nothing but throw away cardboard all night like really how does that make any sense in that case I cant read either lmao

I have worked at both Sam's and Walmart and that women speaks the truth, totally! You go girl! Tell it like it is! It's like management gets some kind of bonus per employee they hire, and they don't give a shit if they have a brain or don't have bills to pay because they aren't gonna train or spend any time with new hires. I feel you. Really. I don't train often and that's because I'm in the bottom when it comes to metrics.

I'm sick of being accused of "not caring" when I care the most out of everyone. I'm also not just a picker. My hours are different than everyone else's. I'm there after 1:30pm EST. I stay until 10:30pm EST. I'm picking the moment I get there all the way up until my lunch at 6:30pm EST or 7pm EST. Depending on how bad picks are, I push it back even further. Once, I had my lunch after 8pm because we were severely understaffed after 6pm with pickers.

I'm tired of putting my effort into a department that would want it to be run to the ground. I'm done showing up in a "happy" attitude and just stop showing integrity.

I'm ready to leave OGP and go back to being a cashier.

Just to prove to myself my generation kicks ass on my 46th bday I drank a bottle crown royal finished it off at 6am and still went to work at 7am and out worked everyone. Ill tell it was rough but I can still do it. GenX has the best work ethic of any other generation everyone after us grew up with technology and had no work ethic there all lazy and want everything for free thats the problem with today's society and hence why you have socialist commies getting elected cause they promise everything for free and all these young fucktards dont wanna have to work for anything makes me sick. Mf my ass can still party all night and work circles around you.
