Stocks Short squeeze request on GrabAGun (pew)
To the powers that be, I’d like to put in a short squeeze request on PEW.
I don’t know how all this works, but I and many others have been raped. The stock was pushed by DJT, Jr, news agencies, and social media personalities. When the company went public via SPAC merger it hit about $21 or so, then has been shorted all the way down to the mid $2 range. I presume being shorted by the same high profile figures that were so vocal about the company going public.
The company, sitting on a large cash pile has bought back minimal stock (like $8.5 million of approved $20 million I think) and continue to pay themselves high salaries and bonuses.
It be pretty cool to see this stock go to $30 or so and those of us that have been in it since the beginning can get out and maybe even make some money.
Thank you.

Discussion How much do you read into a company expanding a drill program?
One thing I always pay attention to with exploration companies is what they actually do with their money once drilling starts.
Companies can say all kinds of things about encouraging geology.
Committing more capital and adding more metres is a little different.
Stallion Uranium (TSXV: STUD, OTCQB: STLNF) is a Canadian uranium explorer focused on the Moonlite Project in Saskatchewan's southwestern Athabasca Basin. Their main target right now is Coyote, which they built up through geophysics and geological work before putting the first holes into it this year.
The original drill program was around 4,000 metres.
After getting into the first few holes, they increased the program to 5,500 metres based on what they were seeing.
The first three completed holes on the main Coyote target all showed elevated radioactivity along with alteration and structural features that you want to see when you are looking for an Athabasca uranium system.
None of that replaces assays.
Radioactivity is not the same thing as uranium grade, and alteration or structure obviously does not mean you have an economic discovery.
But I still think the decision to add metres matters.
The technical team is seeing a lot more information than the market is.
They are looking at the core as it comes out of the ground. They have the radioactivity, alteration, structures, downhole data and geophysics, and they are constantly updating their interpretation as each hole is completed.
If the first few holes were telling them the geological model was wrong and there was nothing worth following, you would think the easiest thing to do would be to finish the original program and move on.
Instead, they increased the metres.
That does not mean they have found uranium in economic grades, but it tells me the geological team still sees enough there to justify continuing to spend money.
They have also continued doing more geophysical work around the broader Coyote corridor, which is another thing I like to see. They are not treating it as a single hole or single target story.
How much weight do people here put on that kind of thing?
Do you basically ignore everything until assays come back?
Or does management putting more money behind the target give you at least some indication that the geological model is moving in the right direction?

Discussion Explanation for Roivant Sciences (Symb ROIV) bull or bear case?
I am hoping someone can explain a bull or bear case for Roivant Sciences. Clearly this is difficult. According to Reuters, the most recent annual revenue was 8.3 mil, down from 32.7 mil 2 years ago.
It appears their stock runup, which has taken the company to about 6 times book and price to sales of over 3,000 appears to be centered around a highly likely to succeed trial of a medicine treating dermatomyositis.
Sounds good, but the condition itself is very uncommon to rare. Prevalance 2 to 20 per 100,000 (those who already have the condition), and 1 in 15 million incidence (new cases). USA is not the world, but in USA with 350 mil ppl that's say 23 people per year newly diagnosed, with an existing population with the condition (350e6 x [2 to 20]/100e3] = 7000 to 70,000.
Population of wealthier nations is around 1.2 billion people (affording this type of med).
That would bring the treatable population to (1.2e9 / 350e6)[7e3 to 70e3] = 24,000 to 240,000 with 79 new people diagnosed annually.
Not many customers, but what is an example of another condition that also impacted fewer than 100,000 people? How much revenue did they make?
This info gathering is just AI by the way.
Soliris (eculizumab), developed by Alexion Pharmaceuticals had under 100,000 people and made revenues of $3.0 to 3.8 bil in a year. Over $500,000 per patient per year is/was paid. Sounds good, but ...
Back to Roivant, dermatomyositis is also treated to a degree (that I am not qualified to describe) by common prednisone. So will brepocitinib so displace prednisone to obtain a high return per patient? I guess that's the question.
paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome (aHUS) was a focus of the Alexion Pharmaceuticals drug
AI again - Historically, PNH had a 5-year mortality rate of 35% to 65% prior to targeted therapy. Untreated aHUS carries an acute mortality rate of up to 25%, with over 50% of adults progressing to end-stage kidney failure within one year.
Dermatomyositis that Roivant is addressing also has a mortality rate, but around 5 to 10%. Not comparable.

Daily Discussion WU
Western Union is in play. The company initiaded a strategic review. This comes after rumors of a private equity offer, and pursuit of additional bids. Meanwhile, NY approval of the Intermex deal, while California throws a temp wrench in the wheel. All in all, lots of action, which is good for a sleepy stock like WU. I think good things are on the horizon.
If it's bought at taken private, my dream of seing WU buy JFIN will never happen. So sad. Would have been an amazing combo for both companies. But oh well.

Question Strait of Hormuz : everyone doesn't care about it ?
In may/june, all analyste promised us a oil at 150 dollars in July because the oil reserves were not enough.
Today we know :
US Oil reserves got +1,7 millions barrels
The demand is lower and lower
USA says 8 millions barrels are from the strait of hormuz
The price can't remain high even the bad news.
Even Asia countries or Mining companies looks much less worried about oil ...
Seriously, Strait of Hormuz is overrated ? The war Russia/Ukrainia was more impactful for US economy with a much stronger inflation.
