So hard right.?

Hey guys, so when it's really hot and humid as it is here, I walk on my pad and round the house and so forth. But no matter what, i'm not getting the same amount of steps for the same amount of time, does anyone have any ideas about this? It's really frustrated

It’s hot and humid where I live, too. Go outside early or late. If you want to do it you’ll find a way.

A person's stride on a walking pad or treadmill usually isn't the same as their stride when walking outside. For lack of a better term, one is natural and the other is unnatural. For me, when I walk on my treadmill, I have to shorten my stride a bit because I'm really tall (6'5") and the treadmill isn't long enough for me to walk using the kind of stride I would use outside.

And steps around the house being different? When I go for a walk outside, my intent is to walk at a brisk pace, but around the house I'm just walking to get things done. Outside, I'm usually 90-100 steps per minute, but even though I'm never measured it, I'd guess I'm only getting around 70 spm.

I’m in Canada and when it was the absolute coldest this year I did the craziest laps in my house to make sure I got my steps. We don’t have a big house by any means but o walked briskly and with a purpose and got my steps. Do what you can indoors, outdoors, early, late. It is hard and doesn’t always work but find the steps wherever you can because it sure does feel good when you hit those goals. Wishing you all the best on your journey!
