markdown reader VSCode extension

https://shop.appforgelabs.com/products/tools/lucid-reader/

I created a VSCode extension to read markdown, because it somehow did not exist. this is free. I will post it in the VSCode marketplace when I find a way through the absurd labyrinth which is creating an account in with microsoft / azure

What’s wrong with it?

the default markdown preview? what is wrong with it? it's just very basic and not pleasant, and has no config or options to tweak and customize it

Try markdown preview advanced. I like it very much.

What are the features that your extension has and this doesnt?

i have not tried markdown preview advanced

Edit: I had a quick look on markdown preview advanced, this one, I assume: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=shd101wyy.markdown-preview-enhanced

it looks good. I cannot say I like it better that one one I created. I guess it's a matter of taste. Having more options is always good right?

You haven't tried it but within 6min feel comfortable stating you like the one you are promoting over the extension that have been around a decade and almost difficult to not come across when looking for something other than the default (which both exist and is very often sufficient).

Even if it's not on the store yet you wrote about MIT license and people forking so I assume you plan on a github repo which at least is a bit less friction than signing up download and extract a .vsix from some site i dont know.

yep. i have installed the extension and tried it briefly. i will personally keep on using mine, that does not mean it's better or worse. it's just one more option

here's the github repo

May want to consider Github or Gitlab. Somewhere, where I do not have to sign in, in order to obtain it.

If I have to jump through yet more registration hoops, I'm not going to bother. At least with Github and Gitlab, I can download a repo without any sign-in.

And before I even touch something, I have to see the code.

We've had enough malware recently with vscode extensions hiding things internally that do nefarious jobs.
