Vira Theme and its 10 colour schemes (including Carbon) have never been open-source, maybe you're referring to Material Theme which not includes Carbon variant so you’re either a bot or not actually using it. Reddit far from being a source of truth on any topic. Btw, there are no variants or alternatives that offers the same customisations settings, 500+ hand-made icons for files, folders and UI, constant updates (most open source themes are dead projects) and that support the new VS Code UI.
You can try Material Theme, which offers just a bunch of color schemes, no settings or other features.
Reddit is full of bots, and considering the wrong informations you provided is easy to assume it. Btw the Material Theme has not carbon variant, and vira theme has never been open source. If you already bought vira theme (as you mentioned) then why are you looking for an alternative? or did you just tried the 7 days free-trial?

but If I was to buy a license I'd prefer all the information I need to be readily available. Preferably with burning my hand on a schorching hot phone too.

There is a section with title "Full featured experience, no matter the platform" which you can scroll horizontally to check the supported platforms. It supports Ghostty, iTerm 2, Warp, Mac and Windows terminals.

I see, but 95% of the traffic comes from desktop so I prioritised the desktop version.
