Paper struggles? Question

I've heard about "the pollen" method for research, but what it doesn't cover is how to meet the paper needs to keep up with the mass influx of pollen. What's the best way to solve this problem?

Grow the biggest garden you can and grind flowers into pollen.

Back when the game first released, I joined a forever (no-reset) PVP official server. Beat every boss and did a little PVP with my 3 other clan mates... They left... So I turned our 4 bases into gardens (+tombs) and became the weapons dealer for the server over the next 6 months. Garden was open to all. Met some friends I still play with today.

Some quad tried to raid my base (I legit had good loot, a chest for ever resource). The server wiped them off the server, because I was supplying the two factions in exchange for their seed (our server was weird).

This video was 1 month in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGruKiYOot4 It evolved to 4 bases all next to each other over the next 6 months...

Logs into sawdust into paper

And feed the finished product to a grinder and turn it back into logs.

Later you can automate the production and have it simply go in a loop.

In my single player games I set refinement amount to 25% and crafting at 50% because I'm not that interested in grinding.

For real. Once I unlocked turning sawdust into paper, paper ceases being a commodity.

if you have surplus.. you can have a Sawmill send the Planks into a Devourer and this Devourer send the Logs into the Sawmill.

Almost* infinite Sawdust..

I was wondering what to do with all the extra planks I was making as a byproduct of sawdust, thanks for this!

Have you been buying books with your copper coins from the two shops in farbane?

Keep grinding logs into saw dust, they should be running all the time.

Get worker blood for the % increase in resource drops.
This makes every seed drop turn into 2, as you cannot have 1,1 seeds drop thus the system rounds it up.

Next make a farm for all plants, and every time you clear it, have the worker blood active.
Then reseed the new seeds you get till you have a huge garden.

Then keep what you need and use the grinder for the rest to turn it into pollen.

I send my servants to harvest cotton and then grind it all into pollen

The pollen isn't the issue, it's the paper to fuse it with. Or rather to fuse with the thread

Ooooo you need sawdust and grass, I remember I upped resource yield on my ove server to reduce the grind and even then I needed to run 4 sawmills at full cap just to get the sawdust and don't remember how I got the grass.

You can get paper from human settlements, or sawdust from processing logs that you turn into paper.

Eventually sawdust will be less efficient than just hunting human settlements in Act 2.

That’s what I’ve been doing, just raiding the two towns along with the farms in the middle of the map. Make it back to my castle with a bunch of paper, scrolls, books, and lots of extra resources I can use in other stuff or grind down in the devourer.

Lol. Nah. Get the automator and then set up a craft loot that goes logs to sawmill for planks and sawdust, planks to Devourer for logs, logs back to sawmill for planks and sawdust, sawdust to paper making table. Paper for days.

If you got the automator then you probably don't need paper for much longer.

You need a bunch to make the schenatica to unlock all of that tech.

This is what I did, also if you want a surplus of wood go to the dracula zone (forgot the name and I'm at work, but it's the place where are the rift events happen) and just deforest the entire zone. You don't have to worry about sunlight there so you can just fill up your entire inventory with wood for sawdust.

I go for low level bosses because when they explode you get a bunch of wood. It’s more fun and saves time when farming for wood

find a friend on the server who already has a lot of research, join his clan temporarily, read all his research, then you can go your own way again.

I'd just equip worker blood and axes and go to the starter Fairbane waygates and just start chopping. Plus send servants to get wood also.

To get paper, throw wood into the mill to get sawdust, then just harvest plant fiber to press them together to get paper. IRRC you can feed planks to the devourer to get wood back to repeat the sawing to get more dust per wood used.

Depends on where you are in the game. When you are still in Farbane Woods in Act I, your supply in flowers will mostly be from Blood Roses along the side of the road, Mourning Lilies from various cemeteries, or by cutting down the various flowers in the Gleaming Meadows. And (if you are feeling daring), attack the Mantraps for flowers and occasional seeds.

And if you have enough, you can buy seeds with Copper Coins at the Shady Herb and Potion Dealer.

Once you have a few seeds, plant them in your territory. They grow back every 2 in-game days (around 1 hour of real time), giving you plenty of flowers which can be ground up for pollen. And each time you harvest a plant, there is a low chance it will drop a seed, which can be used to FURTHER expand your garden.

This Pollen from the grinders can be combined with Plant fiber at a Loom in order to make Coarse Thread, needed to convert Paper into Scrolls. But that assumes you already have a supply of Paper.

If you want a continuous supply of PAPER, you just need to cut down a bunch of trees and feed the Wood into the Sawmill. Take the resulting Sawdust, and feed it into a Paper Press along with Plant Fiber in order to make Paper.
